dont get me wrong, i bought mozzie just because i wanted an op with a good main gun and a shotgun sidearm so i feel ya that hes less fun now, but on higher ranks when people start using actual strategies he was really really strong in part because of that shotgun
another thing is that some people used the shotgun to hide his pests even better so this nerf is in part also a direct nerf to his pests
You're missing the point. Yes, it was fun to be able to do all those things. But was it balanced? Not at all. He did way too much to the team and was essentially a one man army, it made sense to nerf his utility. I think you're looking at Mozzie from a casual/fun perspective, which is fine and I completely get that, but if you look at him from a competitive perspective, he was a lot more powerful compared to other operators for reasons already stated, so the nerf is justified.
An example would be the SSG Mozzie, Mute, Vigil strat in Clubhouse.
also mute still has utility even if his radius is bigger since no matter how far away you will get a warning drones still wont get in, on top of that mute is not only for drone denial, mozzie is
Just because you couldn't take advantage of it properly doesn't mean it wasn't a huge strength for an already bloated operator
