Hey look the very next match!
Nothing beats loading in on round 2 to the sounds of "why did you tk me?"
Hey look we lost a single round and half the team left, a typical daily experience now.
Well if ongoing's is the main reason your friends don't play. Tell them to play with you and it'll fix itself. What you're saying is basically a double-edged sword.
Quick Match is intended to be an option for players to find a match quickly and have a more casual feel. Quick Match also allows the option for players to drop out as needed without facing abandonment penalties. Therefore, joining in-progress matches is an intended feature for Quick Match so abandonment can be backfilled.
Limiting backfill would cause a problem for teams that are missing players due to others leaving. It's a two-sided issue ultimately which makes the overall issue difficult to address.
It is frustrating to be put into a losing match, and we have been passing threads along to the team in response to people sharing their experiences. However, it is important to understand that joining in progress matches is a feature.
So how about the people who want to have genuine matches get an opt out so we don't have to play against the really childish community that has cropped up around an ill thought out mode that BARELY represents what the end game of playing with an actual team with comms etc looks like?
Would also like to point out that I posted yesterday at 8PM on a Sunday, the majority of my matches were 0-2 ongoing starts, during what should be a peak playtime for my part of the world, on a day that nobody does anything, DURING A QUARANTINE. Let that scenario settle for a moment. This happening during hours that there should be plenty of fresh games to put a player makes the game unplayable without another person so you don't get thrown into a lost match, the reason the post was updated so many times is as usual the generic response given that does not address the specifics of the post or the fact that this happened CONSECUTIVE MATCHES ALL NIGHT, appreciate you can only say so much but might be time to throw this one higher up the ladder because the amount this gets talked about vs the amount it has rarely ever been discussed by Ubisoft outside of these forums is astounding. Instead we're seeing ops like Buck and Jaeger being nerfed hard to promote people like Wamai and ops like Jackal nerfed because players are just bad at dealing with the op, wish I could have the same opinion as most that Siege is a game where they only listen to the pros but the amount of casual handholding thats been done over addressing actual problems (5 years to get ranked out of beta and its still pretty beta folks) is getting pretty tiring, just let us opt out if you really think it's not such a big deal and it doesn't ruin your game then not many people should end up enabling it?
Yeah we all know everyone would have the option on in a heartbeat, tks, toxic teams and loading into losses is something any person would want to avoid in their casual experience. Instead Ubi has this image of you joining a game and rallying your already losing, screaming at each other over the mic team to the win and they suddenly become rational human beings because they got a 5th, this just doesn't happen it's a nice quite naive in it's own way image, but it's just that a wee imaginary thing you guys seem to think occurs that just is never the case.
Join in progress increases the toxic behaviour members of your community are exposed to, AADD means 0-2 games are majority already over because the people left on that 3 stack are usually total sewage on the mic or completely check out of the match and waiting for the next to start.
Again limit it or give us the option to turn it off, 3 of these a day? Probably fairly handleable.
Every single match you load into during peak hours while the world is trapped indoors being JIP? Makes a person wonder why they've supported this game for the better part of 5 years and why as a customer there should be any incentive for me to buy ops, passes etc or recommend the game to others? Like hey Siege is great you constantly join half finished matches to a string of expletives and will always be matched with the one guy whos like "ITs CaS bRo" even though he's playing a team based tactical shooter while you're enemy are 5 stacked comms, or maybe I should approach it more like hey man you should pay for this AAA game all of its dlcs and characters but only ever play with me or you'll get JIP'd, not the best sales pitch :)
An opt-out is not the best idea, you dont wanna play a whole match with just e.g 1 vs 5 right?
Theres no fix for this issue, maybe there is with what you said on limitting how many times we can join an ongoing matches per day but still, its just a small problem that not a lot of people complain about, they have other important stuff to fix than this "I HATE JOINING ONGOING MATCH" issue..
I've had to play 1v5 in Ranked before why not Casual since every response from a mod mentions how AADD was added to make the transition from Casual to Ranked more smooth it's only sensible to add leavers penalties and the option to surrender to Casual, if you want us to play ESL rules maybe holding the players to those standards would benefit all players, there's genuinely nothing stopping someone from searching in Casual teamkilling someone and leaving now as long as they space the toxic moments out enough they just skirt the current system, I've known players who TK every other match and haven't been banned once, just doesn't really encourage s a person to boot the game and play it over something else
