People see me waayyyy before I see them
Was browsing to find a post about this, but only found something in other games' forums. Can somebody tell me what the hell is wrong about my system, or connection, or gear, so that there is a clear difference between what my opponents see and what I see?

And it's not reaction time, my reaction time is ok. At least it's good enough so that I can at least give a decent challenge to other players.

I don't think it's peeker's advantage either, because I experience it when I am moving and also when I am camping. So in both situations.

From my perspective, my opponent has an inhuman reaction time, like 0.1s. I guess that could happen perhaps with top of the line players, but then that would be relatively rare that I play against that kind. Statistically speaking, you can't have a top player in every match (because then it would mean they are not top, but average). Therefore the problem I am describing here wouldn't occur as often as it does.

Anyway, so they kill me, with insane reaction time. Looking at the kill cam, they had a good 0.5 to 1.5 sec to think about it. I'm just moving in front of them, doing nothing. What is causing that? I know the kill cam is not that reliable, but it does explain why I feel they have such crazy reaction time. If it would happen on rarer occasions, that wouldn't be a big deal. I'm not the best player out there and it's fine that I get killed by more skilled players. And you can tell when you were just out matched. But the problem I have is clearly not that. I'm sure other people experienced it?

Some people talk about refreshing rate of the screen, but that doesn't make sense. It wouldn't affect what I see in the kill cam.

I guess I can add that my ping is usually between 40 and 80.

The only thing I could think of is that I am using a wireless connection to the internet, but it's a good router and a quite fast connection... But I can't think of anything else.

I'd appreciate info on what explains that and what to do to fix it.

Its peekers advantage. You must be playing with very high ping if its that big for you. Peekers advantage is a thing in every online game but its not that big. So your ping is either high or you have bad reaction time.

Is it that you disagree with me, or you haven't read what I said? It occurs also when I am the peeker, or if I am moving.

And again, I could agree on reaction if when looking at the kill cam there wasn't a CLEAR difference between what my opponent saw and what I saw.

As I said, I'm not the greatest ever, but I'm not on drugs either, so I know I am not hallucinating when looking at the kill cam.

A lot of games reguire a stable connection, 4G/3G connection is rather bouncy at times, EVEN 4G can rubberband your connection around like crazy. I´m using Wi-Fi too and testing it on Terrorist Hunt, so far, either it´s been the server messing everyones pings up to 300+ or just myself with an overheating Wi-Fi router. Cable/Modem connections would be best for multiplayer games.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. The killcam proves my enemy sees my first even if I start shooting

I have a 30 Mbps internet connection, so it's quite decent I think. The only thing I am questioning is that I use WiFi... But then, I have a decent ping in-game, so, I really don't know

Could be the wifi. I used to run off a wifi card that I thought was decent and would have similar issues in just other games. Switched to cable and didn't have the issue again. Your ping may be okay the majority of the time but the random connection issues of wifi may just be causing you to bE out of sync. I would hard test it by moving your computer or getting a cable connected.

USE ethernet cable

I'll try a cable later today then. The modem provided by my internet supplier is very badly placed in my condo, but I can just test it, even if my cable goes across the apartment for now.

If it works, I'll have the modem place closer.

Connection stability is more important then ping for online gaming to a point. Wifi has a ton of variables in it. Just about everything can affect it, walls, microwaves, other electronic all degrade the signal.

Another thing to look into is if your use full screen mode or windowed and if you are using v-sync. Always go full screen and v-sync off. There is a massive difference.

If your worried about frame rates getting to high or trying to keep heat down go with a frame limiter.
