Officially it might be 5 meters, but effectively it doesn't do anything past 1 meter

Although it might be 5 meters, the flash is VERY INCONSISTENT. Sometimes you'll flash the enemy and sometimes you're the victim that doesn't get flashed. Feels like it only works when you're 1 meter in the target's face just to blind them, but at that distance you might as well melee.

it's 4,2-ish meters, anything past that will result in half flashed that they didn't fix

It will show players model with hand in front of their face animation as if they were flashed, but they wont be blinded just have their screen partially white. The "change" that ubishoreman mentioned was made to create a binary state so this wouldn't happen because it would create false illusion of blinding people and result in you getting shot in the face, so it was changed to a smaller range that should only blind, focus on the word "should"

This just describes flash bangs in general.
Blitz only take in consideration your distance and objects blocking your face, while flashbangs also take in considerstion line of sight, so looking away from blitz wont work but will for flashbangs
