Smurfs

Im not that good of a player but tired of these smurfs is it a ego thing or somthing or they dont wanna lose there ranks or somthing

Don't know the fun of really acing or just wrecking a bunch of 5 new guys. All I know is I tried to carry a 4 squad of bronzes and got a ton of kills, but in the end if they don't do anything it's hard for me to carry. No matter how many kills I do, teamwork matters most. So I dunno why they smurf.

smurfing is def an ego thing. they get matched with folks that are their skill and they can't handle the fact they they're not just getting frags and wins. i like playing with people close to my skill because it makes the matches funner imo

I think it's the latter. There are players who either don't like the K/D on their main and want to start fresh, or those who don't want to risk losing Elo.

The team has been investigating smurf accounts and the interaction they have with players in various games. How often would to say you come across smurfs in your games? Are they largely absent from text chat, or do you find them conducting in toxic behavior towards other people in the lobby?

i played around 4 5 games today and atleast 2 games had smurf and actully taking the piss out of us swearing to so yeah

If they behave toxic then I think they did an inapropriate conduct. Plus I think we should come up with better matchmaking. I know this is very vague and abstract but If we can make a better matchmaking system, the smurf problem could at least go down.

that's not much help. any ideas for better matchmaking?

I'd say i meet a smurf at least every 3 to 4 Ranked games. They usually behave really arrogantly and perform much better than their teammates.
That being said it doesn't guarantee a win for their team, especially if the other 4 are not pulling their weight.

They are too many Smurf’s out there. Nearly every game I faced atleast one,... rb should do something against this ♥♥♥♥.

It's crazy how much I run into them. It's at least every 2 matches. I'm not even kidding about that number. These last two weeks have sucked tremendously because of it. I'm not saying I'm great but I'm not terrible either. At best I'm Gold 1, but dropping ranks because we get in a match with a team of 5 unranked but have 1.54 KD's and high win rates that are level 35-50. It really does take the fun out of the game. Might have to take a break from it until it's addressed.

you sure you dont just run into people who are good but have low ranks? that happens without smurfing

Yeah, typicall lvl 30-50 Ash main rushing towards objective and getting like 3 kills, then defending with Jaeger and kill another 3 or 4 by either spawnpeek, runout, doesn't matter, at the end they will get the lesser experienced players, it's like matching a professional soccer player playing against sunday amateur teams. And yes, it's a ego thing, but they must have a very miserable lifes if they only find joy on beating rookies.

the thing is you cant always identify a smurf. i sit in mid gold, one-because i dont take this game too too seriously and two-i dont play with a squad so its always a mixed bag.

yet, sometimes i'll have a decent game, sometimes i'll get absolutely crapped on, and sometimes i'll get like 15 kills and one death or something like that and the whhoollee chat is like "SMURF! SMURF. GET OUT OF HERE SMURF" and i'm like nah man i just play good sometimes
