Gridlock seems a little weak atm, her traps can be used to slow defenders but I find them extremely ineffective at being anything but a little speedbump.(especially vs explosives)
I'd go for Kaid
Gridlock's gadget isn't as useful as Kaid's but its purpose is to alert your team where a defender is. Sound in the game is not the most reliable and a crouch moving defender can almost move silently in situations were alot of noise is covering their movement. Her gadget will make them slow, hurt and make a sufficient amount of noise that the defender will have to deal with it.
Weapon wise, Gridlock has an ACOG for all her weapons and they have lower recoil than both of Kaid's guns and has a fairly equivalent or higher amount of damage with better ROF too I think. Both are 3 armor so fairly slow but Gridlock has the added advantage of an ACOG to make those important headshots.
All in all, Kaid is a fairly good anchor in a game where Ubisoft is starting to seriously nerf anchor operators. They nerfed the damage on the MP5 and added an attacker that can bypass bandit batteries and mute jammers without alerting the defenders. They are starting to add some serious nerfs to roamers too, Lion, Jackal, Dokk, Nomad and now Gridlock. Gridlock is good for that early rush and plant where your team is at full strength. Most obj points have fairly few entry ways and she can plant her gadget on the 2 most important areas and can deny the defenders fairly well while defending the defuser. All in all it will depend on your preference but Kaid's only advantage was that he was new. Now that everyone is adjusted, he isn't as potent as he used to be otherwise he'd be a preferred pick every defense round. He isn't which is why you see Vigil on every defense round.
