My friend bought the standard edition but all operators locked

My friend bought the standard edition but all operators locked. like non of them unlocked.
can someone explain this? since when i bought the standard edition long ago, i got all of the base ops.

there was a time where standard edition had no operators unlocked, but instead the base game operators are very cheap to purchase

perhaps your friend bought a steam key from before the change, and thus has no operators unlocked?

unlocking all basegame will take like 20 hours with the standard though, not to worry. I had to grind out every single operator with my starter edition åss

This seems to be a common problem. They removed the starter edition, so it might have something to do with this.

Standard has reverted to the old standard, if you’re able to, tell him to get a refund and go buy deluxe edition instead. You’ll get all base ops and y1 ops for £2 more instead. If not just grind to unlock the base ones (its 20k renown for all of them in total, really quick to unlock)

Same here, I contacted their support and they will add the missing operators to my account. You have to send them a screenshot of your purchase and talk to them in live chat in order to get a faster response.
