how to backup the game
i downloaded the 60 gb patch, took 13 hours, i pasted it to my brother's pc but it tells him to download the patch again, even tho steam recognized the existing files. What do i do?

You need the app manifest file as well, then his steam will recognize the files. Alternatively, just use steam's built in backup feature to make an actual backup of the game, and then install it that way on his pc.

steam has backup tool built-in, you could use that

You do not need manifest file. Just copy files from your computer, uninstall game on his pc, copy files to "common" folder in steam's location, start installation, steam will detect files, verify them and that's all.
The only thing you need to pay attention to is if he has ultra hd textures enabled or disabled during installation. You can uncheck them during installation/files validation and files will be validated properly.

That's how i always do on my pc when reinstalling os.

you dont need to do this everytime you reinstall your os, just export steam games folder and point steam to it on every installation.

it did detect the files, but once it finished, it still told me to download the 60 gb patch.
