Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Rip Lesion Mains.
So Ubisoft just deleted Lesion, how are you feeling about that Lesion Mains?

For Lesion players who've tried him on the TTS, do you feel this makes him more balanced?

This is his first nerf since almost a year ago. Don't act like Ubi completely destroyed him. He's still pretty good.

He's still extremely good, all this change did was take away his ability to do whatever the ♥♥♥♥ he wants. His power is relegated to reinforcing points now instead of being able to do the job of multiple ops and excel at everything.

Good. Now they can learn to play other operators.

No there isn't

Sure there is, you gotta rest your palm on the mouse so the mouse moves down a pixel every second or so while spraying.

I think you've been dreaming about what Lesion could and could not do.

He was a hard defender that could "potentially" gather "some" intel from stepped on traps.
Not very op at all to be honest.

Now, he's only good for roaming.

Everything Lesion could do pre-nerf, Valk or Mozzie can do better. And now, there's no point in playing Lesion at all.
he's still very powerful
Lesion is one of my favorite Defenders (right behind Rook and Maestro), and the change is basically nothing given my playstyle. I used him to lock down corridors and objectives, not place Gu's on obscure windows and just sit there and wait for the points to roll in and see where the enemy was Gu'd. If I use the Gu for ambushing, I'll deploy it and wait nearby to audibly hear it.

Since the damage per tick was increased, it becomes a lot more important to stop and take the Gu out. This means ambushing becomes a lot more viable as they are more likely to stop what they were doing and take care of it instead of pushing around till they knew they were safe.

Plus the guns are still absurdly good. If them just changing Lesion's gadgets slightly means he is dead to you... you are doing it wrong.

Exactly, he was a hard defender that also had enough power in his kit to be able to do what Valk and Mozzie could also do, simultaneously, as ops with all their power budget dedicated to doing explicitly that one thing, and still do his main job or roam if he so chose.

Every op has a power budget that is supposed to be relegated to a specific set of tasks. If they're versatile, it should mean everything they can do is done by a different op except better, except that they can do whichever they please making them a flex pick. If they're not versatile, it means they're the best at doing that specific task they set out to do. That is how the balance of this, and pretty much any hero-based game is supposed to go.

Lesion's power budget allowed him to not only excel at being a hard defender, he could also be an intel gatherer that could damage and force people in to animations as they enter, weakening them as he learns where they're trying to push from, he could roam and use his Gu to set up ambushes, all the while still having Gu hard fortify entry ways to the point meaning, and his mere presence would be area denial near the point since anybody who isn't an idiot is going to be approaching slower and more carefully, and on top of that his Gu could immediately down low health players, meaning that if you survived a shootout but Lesion was around, it was only a matter of time before you died if you tried to push.

His strengths were too strong to be as versatile as he was.

This change takes away his ability to be the best Flex pick in the game for defenders and instead allocates his entire power budget to defending the point in order to force attackers to either fully commit while weakened during a push or back the ♥♥♥♥ off and give the defenders the advantage while doing so in order to get the needles out as the increased tick damage will very quickly start hurting people bad if they don't do something about it because they got themselves in to a tense shootout where if they stop for even a moment they'll gut rushed.
As a Lesion main, I was kind of bummed when I tried the changes on the TS. I'd be lying if I said he doesn't deserve it though

Sweet, still got my hp. Time to take this annoyance out.
*gets immediately gunned down by lesion's primary anyway regardless of how good his aim is*

It's more of the later for me. I'm fine with not seeing the icons through walls. The removal of that initial tick is a bit too much.

He's absolutely more balanced through and through. His power budget allowed him to do pretty much whatever he wanted and be good at it. These changes reign him in a bit and make him have to commit to being a reinforcing defender rather than being able to go around and do the jobs of multiple ops.
