For instance dynamic shadows on character models disappear when going from high to medium. Imagine you’re looking into a room, with dynamic shadow casting you’ll see the enemy characters shadow potentially bouncing off the wall of the bathroom as he moves around inside. Don't worry about the 'Very High' setting, it gives a minor improvement to the sharpness of the shadows at a performance penalty that isn't worth it to anyone. Hope this answered any questions you may have had, if you have any more let me know!
