Fortress Is Terrible
Ubisoft. We dont want these 100 room maps with twists and turns and every time you enter a room you have to watch 5 doors for roamers. Tower, Vila, Hereford Rework, and now this?

They are the exact same maps just with a different setting. Take the map Kanals for example. Its simple yet good to play. This year has been the worst year for seasons. Every map has been a big maze with 20 doors in one room. I've been playing since Red Crow in 2016 and last year when they added Tower in Operation White Noise. I still dont know my way around that map.

Honestly it all boils down to the new meta they are trying to push. They've said they want the trap meta to be THE meta, thus more rooms, more doors, nerfed IQ/Thatcher, taking away grenades left and right, etc. They pretty much want to push a meta where anchors are bad, roamers get spotted nonstop, and attackers get hit by a million devices. So expect every new map to have more and more of these mazes, it makes for interesting pro-league, but I can see where it takes away the joy of actually playing. I absolutely hate Hereford now, but I do enjoy Villa and Fortress, though I have to play those maps completely different than the older maps.

Im not speaking for myself. Its not my problem its Ubisofts. The maps are now just mazes of rooms and stairs. And this isnt my "personal experience". I used it as an example.

And you're telling me to make sense, when you're admittedly speaking for everyone because you can't make sense out of the new map and think it's Ubisoft's problem because you can't adjust to it. It's a personal example at best and you should play other maps. If you can't, get over it. Learn to adapt.

Its a game, he bought for entertainment, not so he has to learn a map for 2-3 weeks in advance and play dozens of unfun hours to "earn" his fun

house is a prime example of a small map that is trash , the size of a map alone isnt enough to say its good or bad , in cod ghosts , stonehaven was a huge map that was garbage , but whiteout and stormfront were big as well and alot better , its the map design thats important ,not the exact squaremeter size (like a map is good above 20m² , starts getting bad at 40m² and is trash over 60m² )

people complain about big maps alot, but from my experience, its the small maps that where you get rushed by a defender who can just leave the building and score a kill without much effort , small maps have the downside of being easily manageable , defenders on small maps that know the spawns could easily spawn peak the most common spawn points and kill someone , on a big map like fortress , villa ,and others they cant do that as easily

i played a whole round on normal as lion on fortress , didnt even have to use 2 scans to find all bots , on house and other maps , the bots suddenly are on the outside and i am on the inside as an attacker

another thing is bomb / hostage positions , sure theres a set number of spots on every map , but on small maps its very easy to find them , i dont think i ever had a match on house where the attackers didnt find it ,same with other small maps , on villa , kafe dostoyevsky , fortress , tower and other maps , you actually have to search for the things , especially if you arent familiar with the layout , in house you can have never played the map and you would find everything fast , same with other small maps

also , i rather have maps that are large in general and not like Kanal , where you have tons of floors , seperated buildings and stuff like that
