Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Old R6 compared to this
First of all I love this game, however compared to the older titles this doesn't quite feel like a R6 game. The older games you needed to go in tactical, beat some AI who had way better AI than this game has. And you had dark and light areas and 3 different visors (Normal, heat vision and nightvision)... to me Siege feels a bit dumbed down.

Meanwhile in Call of Duty we got this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-I4KkxsqYg feels more Rainbow 6 than Rainbow 6 does.

What is your opinion coming from the older R6 games and R6 Vegas 1 and 2 series?

I liked the way customization of gear and weapons worked in Vegas, I wish we had it on Siege, every operator (maybe some combo exceptions) could have any weapon or gadget if it was compatible, not 100% customizable but you had more choice on your weapons and gear. In the start, beforel the global activation skills and other more "non-realistical" features have been brought, this game was a lot more tactical, but turned into a CoDish and run and go game, which may appeal some but repell others. For me, I liked the game more in its first and second year

Yeah gear wise was awesome, so many diff stats in speed vs armor for Helmet, chest, shoulder, feet etc. etc.

Ah yes a scripted mission feels more tactical than a game with Random variables, cant really compare the 2 dude.

I meant mostly the feeling it gives. R6 Vegas 2, even terrorist hunt misisons the AI was way better and you had maps where you needed to swap between visions and such. R6 Siege expecially with the new map revamps feels too bright to me.

Tactical situations don't always offer full bright light colourful worlds, sometimes you need stuff like nightvision etc. That is what I meant with posting that CoD video, the feeling it gives. Ofcourse that scripted stuff offers 0 tactics, the older R6 games did it way better.
I don't know how to tell you this... but people don't play this game for the AI...

I know, but still the old R6 games had some story like missions, terrorist hunt missions with amazing AI and Multiplayer. But the point I'm starting is how it went from tactical (using night visions in certain situations etc.) vs arcade like that it is today.

This is a hero shooter with tom clancy brand name since ubisoft owns it, in terms of digital midia like games, so they could make a rainbow six tic-tac-toe if they wanted, if fitting with tom clancy original brand is just wishful thinking

Yeah those days of single player RS games are gone for the moment. Not when they can milk us dry with all the ♥♥♥♥ they sell on this new seige. This game is multiplayer focused and when a buck could be made Ubisoft needs every last dollar. I mean what else do they have now? assassin's creed? The division? Ghost Recon? whats a good game anymore if its not gonna make them money
Don't get me wrong tho, not saying this is a bad game, it's atm the game I play the most. But I just miss some real R6 like game with graphics and engine we have these days. With multiplayer added ofcourse.

The only thing that resembles Old school R6 and I've played since 98 is Article 5....thats it

While Siege is fun it doesn't hold a candle to R6,RS,UO,BT and RVS.

I'm excluding Vegas from this equation because I didn't like Vegas thb

This is not your Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six it's "this generation's interpretation of Rainbow Six"

Wish old school RSE had done this title

Yes Vegas was also a strange one in the series trying something new. But what made Vegas great was the AI that could actually flank by really moving around the map etc. In Siege I sometimes see enemies litterly spawn, expecially solo Terrorist Hunt when I got a fast operator. You sort of see enemies fall throug the ceiling (arms wide) and then taking a certain animation _ position, sometimes not even firing.
Devs could at least make the AI better with Terrorist Hunt, copy AI from the Vegas series and revamping the whole terrorist hunt even.

What I'd like.. What I'd pay $100 bucks for is a remaster of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six 3 Raven Shield with the same mechanics, same storyline a total duplicate but on this engine with updated graphics.

With a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ single-player campaign..

Sadly SP campaigns aren't anything but extra work for little in return to dev teams these days they'd rather shove out a multi-player only game and nickel and dime everyone to death with skins and dlcs.

The golden age of gaming is dead and has been dead for awhile.

It's depressing as ♥♥♥♥
Raven Shield was the best indeed! Good memories!
