Discord Is Cutting Out In-Game! HELP!
Whenever I'm in a game, discord loses connection. This only happens when I'm in a game(When the round starts) and it happens throughout the game not randomly and not just one rounds. It doesn't happen on character select, menus, or whenever I alt+tab and open up discord.

Any tips on how to fix this?

Yea this is been an issue for years and both sides wont take the blame. its because discord is based off chrome and rainbow 6 doesnt like chrome taking up CPU usage . It only likes it when rainbow 6 is the only thing running. I have had this issue for years and im as i type this using my phone to talk to people on discord while i play r6. welcome to hell.

yea, i've been using discord for every game for as long as its been out wihtout a problem. i come to this thread because i thought i may have a solution but you specifically said when 'round starts'. well if its not affecting everyone then its an individual problem ofcourse. just saying if it were me and i "had" to use a secondary voice channel besides ingame i'd just switch to vent, ts, raidcall. something.

Ok, after messing around with my settings, pc and other stuff, I finally found the problem. It is not because of CPU usage. When I play Siege, my CPU would always be at 100% and I thought that was the issue but it's not. To try and fix the 100% CPU usage, I turned on VSync to "2" and sat my FPS limit to "60". This lowered my CPU usage to a constant 80% but Discord was still messing up.

So earlier today, I decided to use my 2nd monitor and kept Discord open in that monitor and this SOLVED the problem. The problem was because Discord is closed but minimized(HIDDEN but running). I would always close Discord and have it in the hidden icons on the taskbar and not actually just minimize the app to be showing on the taskbar. Then, I put my settings back to the normal settings I always play on and CPU usage went back to 100% BUT Discord was still working properly.

Keep Discord open on desktop. Happens to me when I press the "X" on discord and have it hidden in the hidden task bar icons

Problem is and you will notice this v-sync is broken in seige and will cause you to drop to 59 fps in fluctions even if you are capable of 100.

Okay, so I'm still having that problem with the game, and here are the solutions I've tried:

- Closing every other application other than Discord and R6S
- Lowering most graphics on R6S
- Run Discord as admin
- Turn off or on Windows game mode
- Maximize Discord
- Disable all input/output devices other than the ones used
- Turning hardware acceleration on or off in Discord
- Trying different audio subsystems in Discord
- Reduce priority of R6S to above normal while Discord is at high
- Reducing or increasing voice channel bitrate
- Lowering R6S FPS cap to 65 fps from 71 fps
- Enabling or Disabling Threaded Optimization in Nvidia Control Panel
- Setting pre-rendered frames to 4 from 1 in Nvidia Control Panel

Honestly, it's getting a bit ridiculous and I probably forgot to list some things I've tried to do. I'm really out of ideas. I will try to run Discord on Google Chrome or Firefox next.

I know this is an old thread, but just thought I could help:

if you're running Windows 10, chances are it's the Game Mode interfering. Disable Game mode and Discord should work just fine while playing :D
