ppl say its press b but it doesn't work.

Then there is something wrong with your keybinds OR you're not using a gun that can change its fire rate.

Pretty sure it's x. some ability use the change firemode button to change ammo type like capitao's bow

X is default for me and i haven't changed the binding. and i didn't say you can change the firemode when the gadget isn't out
