Second of all, in terms of learning corners and getting timing down, most of this comes down to sound recognition. Rainbow 6 Seige is a heavily sound-based game, with footsteps and other slight noises playing a massive role in the awareness of players. If you really want to improve, I highly recommend using a solid pair of headphones, and making sure you tweak your PC's audio settings to help with understanding your surroundings. You may want to go as far as using a 7.1 surround sound engine, like Dolby Atmos or Razer Surround Pro, as both may help you hear footsteps and other noises around you.
To put all the pieces together, work with your sound recognition in Terrorist Hunt. Not only will you start to become more comfortable with the game, you can start to learn maps and operators inside and out, allowing you to have better engagements when you do start jumping into Multiplayer.
Hope some of that advice is able to help you out!
Just a note, don't use any surround sound emulation like Dolby Atmos or Razer Surround Pro. Not even stuff built into headsets. They're somewhat missnamed and don't actually improve positional audio. In fact, they make it worse. They're designed to make your experience more "cinematic" by applying a bunch of filters, but in doing so you get a reduced sound stage and some strange audio "reflections".
If it comes to sound it may be some of this as well, i do have Creative Soundblaster Z, well headset is not that great, some budget Creatives but overall most times i hear the enemy (sometimes instread of hearing them in front of me i hear them above but... :V).
But i am sure that not only the not the best headset problem, and after almost 600 hrs it's disgusting for me to jump with the skill from bronze to play in one match :V
Also i do know sometimes i am too steady and need to be more "dynamic" (like more movement, brave/fast decisions etc.). Usually i depend on team way too much (especially on randoms or on casuals) and it makes me dead more often that i'd like to.
Also i depend on info too much as well, i feel really bad when i have no idea where enemy is so usually clutches are not that good tho (and by this you should know i do not like to be the last standing op). Ofc i can win solo versus few enemies or without info go in and win the round but i wish i could do this more often.
Yesss, i've tried "scout mode" from Creative once but it was so terrible and misleading. Sure it made footsteps bit better to hear but it was not possible to hear the side of those sound and also all the environment like speakers on Border were loud as hell
On realistic they will punish you for a bad peeking time, with either killing you or flank the ♥♥♥♥ out of you or dmg you a lot.
I usually play normal jsut to improve aim and there is no need to use the sounds at all.
It's not this :/
Map knowledge is fine here, i do not have much problems to move backwards, moving with ADS or running to other room when i am flashed (<-- usually :P) and not getting stuck.
