Cheapest way to unlock Operators?

I'm new to R6S, I only have Rook and Fuze unlocked at the moment.

T-hunt, on House, Standard t-hunt (Where you hunt down 22 enemies) Do that with a buddy and you get 130 renown every 1-2 minutes

Don't do this, its a boring grind that gives little renown. Play casual so you learn the game and get renown.

Thing is, it's a faster method of renown gain than playing Casual. For every 1 minute 5 seconds of THunt, you can get around 150 in renown, compared to a varying casual time of 3 minutes (1 minute for each round, assuming the same team wins) to 25 minutes, (If it goes 3-2 and every minute of the match is played) for around 250-700 renown per match, depending on your score.

AFAIK you get 300 R6 credits whenever you gift people the game.

Source - I gifted a friend a copy of the starter edition and got 300 credits. Gifted 2 more of my friends and got another 600 credits.

Yea but that costs more than just like spending 20 bucks on one of the bundles

2. let them give you the money to buy the game
3. gift them the game
4. get the free 300 r6 credits per copy that you were able to gift.

OP wanted the "cheapest way" to unlock ops, and you can't get any cheaper than free

Can this work without Starter Edition? lets say my friend, lets me buy him the standard over the starter, will this work?

Do all Situations with and do the "Bonus Tasks" and u get a good Amount of Renown. (And if u do Article 5 u also get a Skin for the IQ's Aug). Also they are neat if ur new
Watch the short Videos about Barricades and Stuff (idk where to find them anymore) or just skip them and get some free Renown too.

One option not mentioned so far: Afaik you can upgrade to standard/advanced edition and have all the default operators unlocked, at least that's how it's supposed to work.

You can get Uplay standard edition for around 20€, advanced for around 24€ and they also should come with some R6 credits you could use to unlock DLC operators.

Certainly not the cheapest, but probably the most hassle-free.
