GPU 100% spikes, never used to happen before, Only happens sometimes

Gpus are meant to work at +98%.

If they're not or you have a bottleneck or vsync is on.

Everything has their limits for a reason right? They aren’t always supposed to, though. It may cause overheating on some computers like my Alienware that was fried for that one reason. With a 1070 I can say myself that it runs at 40% on most games and does exceed 200 frames on R6 at 50%

This game has run well on my GTX-960 for a long time, I don't understand why it's suddenly having poor GPU performance & only at random times (CPU below 99%)

Changing settings has no effect

If you dont limit frames its supposed to be used at +98%.

But after 50-60 on most settings for months, It now has significant drops of sub 20, This will happen after several normal matches, It's intermittant but nothing else is using my GPU

it worth checking your cpu usage, game has a bug that sometimes will eat up 100% cpu and that causes frames drops.

Ive a 7700k and sometimes it happens to me, ive heard you can get rid of that turning off HT which I wont do, so I live with that.

That was the first thing I checked, It's surprisingly not the CPU, It's in fact the GPU

thats weird then...

only drops your fps when it gets high usage? and just to be clear, you mean usage right and not vram usage?

GPU load at 100% When the fps drops to 20, Normally it runs fine at 98%, It will rine for a few matches and than overload the GPU, Vram is underutalyzed at 1.7GB
I get bad GPU usage in siege as well, only in PvP matchmaking though. I get like 120 frames average on med settings with a 1080 and i7700k, same FPS with ultra settings. I get like 40% GPU usge as well.

weird we have basically the same setup and my gpu usage its like 98-99% but I didnt bother to check vram usage. I get 100-140 fps depending on the map. Ive never noticed my gpu usage going that low

Noticed it was fixing itself when I Alt+Tabbed a couple times, So switched to Borderless & It now it's 60-75
