Why is All Chat Even a Thing?
Well, people are getting banned for racial slurs and what not.

But I just want to point something out, most of the time when people complain about others being offensive it's people insulting others on the enemy team. This is done through "All" Chat.

So here's a question: why is All Chat a thing?

It genuinely shouldn't be. At least not in Ranked. It serves no purpose aside from being used to insult the other team. And if you don't want us insulting the other team, then why is this in the game? Just outright remove it, it does more harm than good. Occasionally someone on your team will get upset over the smallest things and just start telling the enemy team your positions in chat, and in Ranked you can't just kick the guy if he hasn't team killed yet.

So just remove it. Consoles only have voice chat and they do fine. If you want to knife fight or something, start up a custom game and invite friends or people you've played with.

Also I expect an argument like this to show up so I'll just make a counter-argument now: If the enemy team has a cheater on it, and they don't kick it to begin with they're probably not going to kick it regardless of what you tell them to do in chat. And if it's Ranked they can't even kick the cheater until it team kills so really it wouldn't help anyone.

TL:DR: Remove All Chat, it serves no purpose in a tatical FPS.

Theres no reason to not have it. Half the time ppl report for racism just because they dont like the person and not for actual racism, cause honestly who cares if people are racist online. Ppl in all chat have helped me figure out things sooo many times I cant even count. Sometimes my team doesnt answer a question I have so I have to bring it into all chat. Oh also its fun to tilt ppl

I mean, I want to keep the ability to make friends regardless of team. Even in ranked.

My question still stands

WoT had the same issue before. People would give away friendly positions(Which is against the rules mind you) and the chat usually devolved into a ♥♥♥♥ talking convention about WN8 and WR.

Solution? Take away all chat. Team chat only in all modes. That solves it, right?

Not really. It produces more salt because since you can't publically diss someone, you have to either suck it up or PM them. Which in turn created a lot more hostility than ever necessary, with the battles getting stale at the silence.

Yes, WoT is a lot more casual while R6S is the opposite(?). That does serve the argument of all chat being subjectively optional. To me, most offensive comments actuallly spring from your teammates, not the OPFOR. If the OPFOR has a salty teammate who talks ♥♥♥♥, it doesn't hurt but boost your ego(lol) so that you got more confidence.

The hurtful remarks coming from someone of your own team would hurt the overall spirit and attitude of the team, possibly affecting performance in a negative manner. Not to mentions that attacks via PMs would be higher if all chat is taken away for either side to spit some hate.

Besides, it's not all about spitting petty insults and salt. You might make some friends on the way by banters.

Just my 2 cents.

Otherwise how will Ubi ban people based on what they chat ingame if they can't diss the OPFOR? lol

Well i had a kid yell the n word in one game today in casual and another where the guy killed the whole team until he was kicked and i am sure if they get banned they will come here and ask why they was not warned when they was the worst kind of gamer to ever have to be around.
Oh and another game where a person to another asked he wanted to lick hios ,,,, so yea i think the bans are justified and if you can not talk properly to people then you should not be in the game since most people can.
I am sure these people can go out in public and talk normally so they can do it online to.

Bans aren't issued for voice chat.

Also, that's not the topic of discussion.

Well all chat is pretty much useless Imo. So if it stays or is removed everything would be the same as always Imo.
Anyways it can reduce the "trash talk" to none against the opfor team, which is good I guess. Also it will reduce the people banned unless they get angry with their teammate's and start using the "forbidden words".

If you get triggered over something somebody on the internet said you need to rethink your life

That's a good point. Ubi could just a filter that blocks the "forbidden words" to avoid being toxic against the opfor team.
Edit: That could be a better solution than the current bot filter that bans people.

Tbh why dont people just ignore those who talk ♥♥♥♥ to avoid getting banned themselves

and on the other hand they need an option to disable All Chat in options (if they haven't already since I don't really check)

Seem like you have never played fps online ever.
