Why is Operation Health a meme?
I don't get it - why does everybody make jokes about it in game from time to time? I haven't been playing when that came out, so I wouldn't know anything about it.

didn't help

Haha because they never fixed the game. only used it as a way to quickly implement loot packs and such. they got loot packs out real fast during that season but the touted bug fixes stopped afterwards. Unless something was brought to their attention did they do anything although there had been tons of threads about issues.

it was helpful, but it didn't provide nearly as much as it should have for 3 months time.

Operation health just broke the game even more but also didn't help what so ever

for a brief span of time, i had nearly perfect hit reg. The matchmaking sucked though. i stopped playing ranked after velvet shell and have stayed unranked ever since and was always ranked against some really bad players. It skewed my casual mms rankings because I'm more 1.0 or so w/l and k/d player but got really high stats after that season. It is more balanced now where they match you based on your ranked stats but now the netcode and stuff sucks. I lose more often simply because the other guy won via poor netcode not from better skill.

Rubber banding was twice as bad afterwards for me.

WARNING: operation heath 2.0 and not a April fools joke
BAITness Apr 1, 2018 @ 6:11pm
After operation health came out the game was in the worst state it had ever been. Shot reg was non existant. There was a new bug that made you bounce off walls - literally. Players still found ways to get inside the geometry. The things they said they fixed they did not completely fix. They claimed they raised servers to 60 hz but then secretly lowered them back down to 50, and only admitted it once caught. It was awful.

because ubisoft is a money oriented company. They don't care if the game is broken as long they can add buyable cosmentics

I actually heard operation Health was extremely helpful in working out the kinks of the direction they wanted R6 to go in, so they took a break from releasing new content / DLC in order to to work on the game itself. Balance, bugs, and the like

I can't remember which youtube channel I heard it from, but one of the main reputable R6 channels for sure, Rogue-9 or Matimi0 or something..

the operation was a joke, hence the meme

Operation health was a 3 4 month period of time where instead of getting new content Ubisoft focused on improving the general performance of the game. Results were mixed.

Ubisoft kinda learned their lesson and in the next "optimization" update we get two new operators (Season 3 is the map overhaul update, and we get the two new defenders to balance out Lion and Finka), but the damage has been done.

Correct. People are only upset because no content was released, and there were still problems afterwards. Some complaints might be justified, but the overwhelmingly negative feedback was just mob mentality.

Operation Health brought us the foundation that we are on and the changes being built,

- New hitboxes
- One step matchmaking
- Hibana Gadget rework and fix
- Dedicated servers for private / t-hunt games
- Upgraded servers, no peer-to-peer

All of those were great changes and define the game we're playing in RN, whether people hated Health or not. It was annoying to play, but I feel it did it's job.
