High ping in ranked?
Just started ranked, played 2-3 matches so far. But all of the matches had players above 150ms. 1. Will it be fixed/is it even on the table?
2. Anything I can do to match with people who are not located 1000+ km away with potato net?
3. Anything like the program used for csgo to avoid playing with people with extreme high ping?

Not to offend this community or anything, but how can this be classed as a competitive shooter if ping advantage is allowed? In csgo (atleast in europe) it's very rare to play with players that are above 40-50ms. In siege it's common to see players with 150-350ms...
Please let there be a fix.
Thank you.

It's a strange kind of lag compensation that they use that really hurts playing with a good ping. They seem to believe that it's worth trying to make it so that people with high ping and people with less than 50ms ping can play together, which is not really possible. In theory it's a great idea in order to increase the ability for people to play together but in reality those with slower connections are usually better off since their shots are apparently adjusted. They occur earlier than was really possible, leading to ridiculous events, like them firing at you before they even appear from round a corner. A lot of times you will pull the trigger first from your perspective, nothing will happen, and you will die before you hear them fire without them even appearing to be looking at you. Or you will shoot them dead before you see them fire, and then die anyway, and in the replay you never fired.

Also, the replays you will see are not what either player actually did or saw in-game (unlike for example CoD where the replays are the killer's literal version of events).

It's a shame because the mechanics and design of the operators is really interesting. It's just impossible to play it seriously compared to CSGO or even games like Battlefield. I have no idea how they even have a pro scene going in this game, really.

It's not a competitive shooter. The netcode is atrocious. It doesn't really matter if you all have 15ms ping or there's a bunch of 150, 300ms etc players, what you see is complete fantasy vs what the server or other players see. On top of that, everyone just sprints and lean glitches like it's 2003, so you'll never see them coming. Most of the time you won't be rewarded for strategic play or out thinking your opponent, just a random dice roll to see if your bullets warp around the corner and hit them before theirs hit you.

Game is good if you can fill a lobby with friends who have around the same ping and won't abuse all the glitches, but other than that, fairly silly.

1. Don’t think so
2. There is a solution to this for your team: find 4 friends from your local area and play with them
3. Afaik no

Problem was mainly that the enemy team (mostly all of them) were above 150ms and I normally have 20ms - 40ms. I do play with a few friends when im playing siege, and they live in the same country as me and have great internet aswell and therefore, stay at around 20ms - 40ms as me.
I did however play a few matches later yesterday, where the teams were evenly ping matched. Guess it's just very random.
But I really hope that ubisoft will consider putting more effort into gameplay, optimization and netcoding rather than pooping out new operators and season passes. But that is probably very unlikely.

Gonna leave your answer as ''Topic answer'' as it just pin points exactly what was talking about and a lot of the concerns I had :)
