Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Is Smoke the bad guy?
So for me smoke is one of the many operators who doesnt really fit in. He's been incarcerated, has a history of rebellious/violent acts and uses the same chemical mixture as the terrorists.
Yet Rainbow thinks his chemical warfare is the best for counter-terriosm ops? I mean cmon, he's clearly a double agent

Im just saying, you got people who use these cool gadgets to stop their enemies yet you have a dude that straight up uses nazi, mustard gas to kill people. Seems alittle evil

well, consider the fact that the matches against other operators are training simulations, smoke's only using that mustard gas against the white masks.

STILL, why not use tear gas or sleeping gas? Why must be use mustard gas, then same thing his enemies used to take down a university. Just seems weird that he would choose the exact thing they are trying to stop

Methods cannot say anything. The resistance during WWII demolished railway, raid cargo trucks and such as, which are pretty much the terrists do today. If you consider it evil, sometimes smaller evil must be done in order to stop the greater envil

We don't even know if its the same gas. May as well be ubi using the same textures. Then again, rainbow had its fair share of traitors in the past. http://rainbowsix.wikia.com/wiki/Gabriel_Nowak

All I'm saying is that he could use anything he wants to stop the terrorists, yet decides on using chemical warfare. Why would the most priviledged special forces HQ hire a dude with that background and use of warfare?

Because he's good at what he does. As it says in his personallity profile, he loves the chaos of war and battle.

That is totally bad-ass, but just doesnt seem the kosher kind of thing to do after a university just got attacked by chemical warfare

Well, all SAS ops look pretty evil to me so idk. Smoke doesn't have to be the only bad guy.

Think of it this way: It's clear from Smoke using a fake ID to get into the military that he's been itching to get into warfare from a young age. He also excelled in sciences such as biology. Now, would you rather have a skilled combatant, who is fearless, bold, and extremely intelligent, working for you, meaning you're able to point them in the direction you want, and fight the people you want to fight, as well as keep a close eye on them? OR, would you rather have them out there all willy-nilly and freelance?

Smoke would likely be doing what he does whether he got into the military or not, because it's who he is. So it's better to keep him on the right side.
