Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Extreme load times and losing all operators, skins, etc.
3 times! 3 times in the past month my game has booted up with horrendous load times and all my operators' attachments, skins, outfits are unequipped.

Sometimes when I'm really lucky, after waiting for around 10 minutes for the game to pass the main title screen, I'll lose all my unlocked operators until I reboot, leaving me with the first situation all over again.

So far the only way to solve this is by re-equipping everything for every operator. And I have every single op with full attachments and skins for every single weapon. It drives me absolutely nuts!

I don't know what it is that does this. Sure, I live in Australia and we all know how bad our connection is here. It can't be my HDD as I load into matches with a click of my fingers and I run the game on ultra at 80+ frames. Maybe it's the servers failing to recognise everything within my profile?

Someone tell me what's up?

Sounds like sync issue with servers

Hmm, Since it might be a sync issue...

Try to reset the cache
https://support.ubi.com/en-GB/faqs/000027310

After that if it doesn't solve the issue try reinstalling UPLAY and RainbowSix

Seems like the most probable fix. Thanks for the suggestions.

It happen to me multiple times already. 2 times all operator, the other only a couple (which lead me to lose a round because i was unaware of this)

Unfortunately, after clearing the cache, the main menu load time is still very long perhaps even longer. Uplay also failed to sync my achievements to the cloud this time around.

Might I mention it is a pain the butt to even access the operators and shop tabs because of load times.

Maybe I need to verify the cache in both steam and uplay? Maybe it's because I'm having to use two launchers at once?

This is classic sync conflicts / net failure behavior. Most web services time out at 2 minutes by default. If you're constantly waiting 2 minutes there's something causing a timeout on your connection.

I'd open a support ticket with ubi. Something is clearly corrupting your account repeatedly.

I have just opened a support case with ubisoft. Hopefully they can solve this issue where many of us can't seem to help it.

Yeah, Good luck with fixing the issues

I am sorry to hear about your issues with the load times and profile issues you're facing with Rainbow Six Siege and I do thank you for those system report files. Looking through these, I do not see anything untoward that could cause this issue.

What you're currently describing does sound like the player profile file has somehow become corrupt. As you're having to redo situations and loadouts every time, this does seem to be the typical behaviour of such a corruption.

In order to begin troubleshooting this, could you please run through the following steps for me?

Make sure Uplay is completely exited out, which can include exiting from your system tray if you opted to have Uplay run in the background when pressing the window X.
Go to the save game folder below and delete it after making a backup:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\635 (Uplay)
C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher\savegames\\1843 (Steam)

Open Uplay as administrator, then disable the overlay and cloud save.
Launch Siege, modify an operator's loadout, and play a situation, to ensure a good save.
Exit the game, re-enable cloud saves and the overlay and restart Uplay.
When the game starts back up, you will get a message about which save to use. Make sure to select the local save, not the cloud game save. Uplay will then update with the local save.

I feel that it is important to add this to the thread to help other people out in a similar situation. I believe this has fixed the slow load times by a great margin, though I could've just been very lucky this time around. As for losing operators, skins, etc. I won't know until later on whether this still continues.
