My game is acting up weird, help!
Ok so, i'll explain everything that led to this point.

Basically I was looking for a keygen for a program, but because i'm an idiot I ended up getting a bitcoin trojan instead, CPU Utility ''Shadowsocks'' or something, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up my pc for a time, installed Malwarebytes, got a big chunk of the virus off my pc, spent the rest of the day getting additional junk and trash that the virus left and then went for a game of Siege.

So, everything is fine at this point, there were no signs of the malware persisting and doing bad stuff to my pc, checked all around my pc and scanned stuff for corrupted files and a bunch of other stuff, at this point I was like ok this should be fine, i'm sure it couldn't possibly affect my game.

I hop in, I play a match and then I notice that whenever I use the Uplay overlay or the In-game web browser of Steam it is INCREDIBLY slow, super slow and everything freezes, it used to be absolutely fine time ago, it was like okay fine I can manage without hoping on the web browser or checking the Uplay overlay, I would have been okay with that if it weren't because I started having more problems, one of them is that i'm getting lag spikes combined with an audio glitch, similar to whenever a game or your whole pc crashes when sound is playing, this happens for like 1 sec only, but after that sometimes my sound would get incredibly low and then would get back to normal, something is notice is that mic voice from players sounds absolutely fine compared to the low sound problems.

My guess is that either I haven't completely removed the virus or it funked up some of my files so bad that some of the settings for Siege are corrupted, or something like that.

So basically the problems I get are:

-Laggy and frozen Steam/Uplay in-game overlay (this only happens when I am inside a match, whenever i'm on the main menu it's fine, it's also fine during the Operator selection screen)
-Sound problems
-Lag spikes
-Takes more than usual to get outside the game or to minimize it, minimizing it during a match gives me a connection failure

Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated, I don't know if I should reinstall the game, look for more traces of the virus although there are no signs of it still persisting or idk, I could use a hand about what to do

TLDR; Getting lag spikes and sound problems I think a virus may have cause it but I got rid off the virus and I can't find any other fix right now but to cry for help here

Did this happen before? Go into Task Manager and look at the cpu load as well as ram usage.

Nope, never, it was absolutely fine and I could roam normally around the web browser before I got infected, ram/cpu/memory usage is fine too from what i'm seeing, there are no signs of a malicious bitcoin trojan leeching off my cpu usage

Try Wise Care 365 if you need tuning up, that usually fixes most issues. Run the registry cleaner scan as well.

Try setting your games CPU priority to HIGH.

Ugh, I guess I have to reinstall it

Best thing to do in this situation is clean windows reinstall. You maybe did remove most of it but something was left behind(parts of troyan or broken system files). After reinstall, put some good antivirus and scan pc(if you have aditional hdd for storage)

I was thinking about that but I wanted to avoid a windows reinstall because I just did one like 3 weeks ago, if nothing works after I reinstall the game, I guess i'll have to go for that
