So the higher the FOV the better?
Is it really that big of a deal? As I said, with FOV of 72+ I cannot really see enemies that are directly in front of me INSIDE my crosshairs if they're peeking small holes. This issue only exists with 1.0 magnification scopes like Reflex Holo and RDS, with ACOG 90 FOV is perfect
My eyesight is bad but I have glasses. Used to play 80 fov, switched to 90 earlier today. Spotting enemies is a bit harder I guess but for me LOD quality ultra seems to help.
Keep in mind your sensitivity changes too if you change fov. Higher fov equals lower sensitivity. Feels that way at least, probably because you have more view to the sides.
I rely on sound far more than sight tbh, to get kills and gather Intel. Like a blind bat with sonar pretty much
Setting your LOD quality to max will not make it easier to spot your enemies. With 90 FOV, the enemy will be right in front of my scope but I house I won't even see him, I have to wait for him to fire and then fire back at his muzzle flash
Anyways, the de facto 90 degrees FOV is 74. So if you're okay playing CS FOV then play 74. If you want it higher, then not a problem. 90 FOV on this game is a bit much for me. I wouldn't suggest going lower than 70 though, at that point you're starting to put yourself at a big disadvantage.
I know it doesn't do anything for distance, but makes textures far away not muddy. Seems easier for me to tell if I'm looking at a guy or not with it on ultra.
Hmm I dont have that issue, just a bit of fish eye action at 90 fov but you get used to it.
It's a tradeoff really, you can play 75 fov or whatever. Heads will be easier to spot.
You're right, I play on CSGO with 74 ( 90 ) FOV and I sometimes have issues when they're far away, but honestly, 99% of the times I don't, but CSGO is very different than Siege since in Siege enemies peak thru these extremely narrow angles and peepholes unlike CSGO where most enemies are fully exposed or crouched. I think setting my FOV to 71 is the best course of action for Siege since it's not a massive disadvantage like <70 FOV and I can still see what I'm shooting at
I don't think it really works like that though mate. If you think of it, since character modes are rendered at same resolution and textures at all ranges, the only thing that is changing is the resolution of textures and foliage, and if your enemy is hiding against a textured wall or plant, it will increase the resolution, probably making enemies hide even more
Might be placebo but with it on low I struggle more. Doesn't seem to impact my fps so I'll leave on ultra and test more.
90 seems great but it's a nightmare if you're defending and no acog. Might try 74 and 75 fov myself. Seeing less to sides is a non issue because as soon as you expect an enemy or hear sound you turn towards that direction anyway. Most of r6 is close quarters aswell.
What you can do is use 74 on holographic every time you defend and 90 on ACOG when attaching. I honestly tried using ACOG with 74 or even 80 and nothing was as good as 90
