is there a hack that allows you to shoot through shields? / Not see shield rendered in your client?

There was a player in our game who was able to headshot us through any forms of shield. I was first weirded out when he one-shotted me through Tachanka's turret shield but I let it slide. Round after, he headshotted me through Monty's extendable shield as if I weren't even holding it. He just saw me and aimed for a headshot, fired once and walked off.
Round after that he did it to Echo hiding behind a deployable shield. I'm really confused.

Wouldnt surprise me as wasnt there a way for people to remove smoke? The shield is a bit odd as id thought the server would look for cover when registering hits, if its client side then maybe people can do the opposite and cheat the game into thinking they are behind cover 24/7.

Well I've had a glitch before where Monty's shield rendered on his back. I was able to shoot him dead.
