It definitely helps but probably won't give you a superb boost.
Ok thanks, I'm definetly going to add another 8gb DDR4 SO-DIMM 2666mhz RAM to my already 8gb of RAM laptop. So its going to be 2x8gb. I do see some games having really big fps boost like Battlefield 1 maybe since its very CPU intensive. I saw the youtube videos and its about 20 fps difference.
Well, I just need 16gb of RAM to run emulators. I just wonder if that other stick of RAM could hep the fps
that being said the i5-8300h might be the source of your low fps, the mobile 1050 should be fine, i had 80-90 fps on a gtx 750 (with 8gb ram singlechannel) but your cpu is.... pretty bad for cpu heavy titles, while it has a boostclock of 4ghz its baseclock is 2.3ghz, so unless your laptop has a beefy cooling solution it wont stay at 4ghz for long, 4ghz being more of a marketing number in this case
