I know how balance Jackal
Make Jackals ID system give a single ping on scan, make the footsteps disappear, and add a 7 second cooldown to the next ping, so you can only ping each of the 5 players once, this would add 2 additional charges and make his pings more strategic in their use, as you get only 1 per player, aswell as allowing you to ping at times where you can opportunistically target operators

Yeah thats good idea i would make footsteps stay without possibility to scan unless you go to last ping location though.

Yeah thats good idea i would make footsteps stay without possibility to scan unless you go to last ping location though.
making footsteps disappear makes it so the same player cannot be re-tracked, dead players footsteps should also still appear if not already scanned so players do not know who they are scanning directly

Thanks for the suggestion! I like the change to make his kit more strategic, and require you to make a decision on when to use the scanner.

This would also be a good addition as well, that way there is still some chance between identifying a new target or an enemy that has already been killed.

that's precisely my line of thought, to make Jackal still powerful enough to see use while making his power feel less cheap and more for use in late round to properly locate players after cameras or drones have been destroyed, making him a late game operator similar to gridlock
