Is Ying a good Operator to use?
Title says it all.

So, how are you?

That's great to hear Parross, glad to hear that you're doing pretty well.

I felt that they nerfed her a bit too since I saw a few people complain in a video once that her flashbang doesn't always have effect on the enemy when he was sitting in a corner and the candela came in. The large bullet capacity seems interesting though.

I'll be fine, you don't have to worry too much, I've already spent a few hours on a few frustrating games and a few forums, and I have to say, I think I'm doing pretty fine so far. But, sincerely, thanks for the concern~

I have Hibana, Maverick and Blackbeard.

Hibana seems a pretty decent attacker and thanks to her gadget, it allows me to get into areas without enemies noticing me. (Crawled once inside a bathroom with the hole I made and was actually able to plant the bomb defuser without them being able to get me since they barricaded it with Castle's gadget and they couldn't break it down unless they wanted to get shot at.)

I was pretty decent at Maverick before they made his torch a bit noisier. It made by approach a bit more predictable and I felt he was a bit situational since I find most of my enemies away from their reinforced walls and I was off angle. The more holes I made, the easier it made them find me. So I guess more practice on this operator for me. I liked his AR-15 thinking it was an M16 so I just switched to his M4.

Blackbeard felt like a casual operator for me, easy to get used to. His shield is pretty decent especially while on prone since it forces enemies to break his shield first during tight corner firefights but made it hard for me to aim on wider corridors. So I guess it's more practice for me also when it comes to bigger maps and while crouched or standing.
Hibana is simply essential on any map where they are defending basement and there's reinforced hatches above. Take for instance bank on the money safe bomb: if you are hibana you get someone to come with you to open area and kill whoever is defending there, open all 3 hatches and bam, you denied the enemy team of pretty much all their movement and their mira windows. Just stand on the hatches and kill whoever runs by them. The amount of pressure you can do when the hatches are open is quite massive on that map.

Maverick is a bit harder to use but very rewarding when you know the spots that people like to sit in. For example, on skyscraper if they have a mira and a bandit defending Geisha you can open a hole directly to the mira and open it or kill the mira from outside, nevermind completely bypassing bandit (as long as he doesn't shoot your face off first) so you don't need to bring thatcher along.

Blackbeard is just a very easy operator to use that will allow you to win fights you would lose, and hold angles, and will increase your k/d :steammocking: He's pretty much a crutch if you're doing bad or are learning and need something extra.

This is of course mostly advanced stuff that needs some team cooperation (except for blackbeard). You can't open hatches by yourself otherwise some defender might just run up the stairs and kill you from behind. You can't open holes as maverick without someone else holding them otherwise you'll just get shot when you peek your head in them (I mean you can but it's riskier, of course).

Hmm, so aside from Blackbeard, full on coordinated teamplay is required to fully realize the potential of both Maverick and Hibana. While Hibana is still pretty decent going around solo (just with my current experience), I guess I'll try communicating better with the team to see how far it'll take me.

And also, thanks for the suggestion on the maps with Hibana and Maverick, I'll try to practice them more often and see if I can pull them off effectively both with a player with me and solo.

Feels like a pretty decent operator but requires a bit of practice on using her drone since it can get shot easier than the normal ones. Her drones best used if a Mira Frost or any operator with traps are in the match as it can disable their traps using her drone.

They can be played solo if you are good enough, or if someone else in your team knows how to play. Like, taking control of open area when you have Hibana in your team is a given.. someone should escort her there safely. As maverick you might need to signal what you are doing and where you are opening. Having a teammate to protect you when you pick these operators helps a lot.
Noted, thanks Timbermaw, will really give the better coordination a try while using this operators.

Maybe I'll try pinging a wall that I'm gonna breach while using maverick or hibana while their gadget is out if my allies can't understand me when I'm using the mic.

Mayhaps, I'll also do a thorough research on how to use her properly first so I can use her guns and gadgets to it's maximum potential
Ying is a pretty good operator especially if you know your opponent's position, so you'll be needing tons of information from droning and communication. Also great in clutch situations especially in a 1v1 scenario.

Hmmm I see, so gotta practice also on using the drones properly especially on cases where the enemies are already close but I don't know their location.

Also, it means that it's best to keep at least one candela with me on the case of a 1v1 situation.

Thanks for the advice~

This, this is the effect I hope to achieve if I'm going to use Ying.

Thanks for the nice meme~

Not to mention I think she's more dependable with hip firing her weapon compared to Blitz when it comes to accuracy. But of course, I've still yet to try it out.

Tried with Blitz against an operator a few steps away with hipfire. And that wasn't my proudest moment.
