Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Hey UbiMorning, what does the "Mobility" stat even mean?
Since you're fairly active on the forums, I was wondering if you could directly answer this question that's been confusing the community for years. I've had enough of Rogue-9 theorizing as to what it might mean, so let's get to the bottom of it: WHAT IS MOBILITY??

So there are 2 possible mobility stats: 45 and 50.
45 mobility is used on pistols, while every other weapon has 50 mobility. With guns at 50 mobility, your speed is not affected. However, with 45 mobility, you are able to move slightly faster when you have the weapon equipped.

So as Ozzy mentioned:

but what's the point of listing it as a gameplay altering stat if it doesn't make any logical sense (assuming you're referring to the sidearm speed boost, which is normalized for all pistols and isn't consistent with Mobility at all)?

Something from an old version of the game that was not played outside of the in-house dev team if i am not mistaken

I thought it was the aiming down sights time on the weapons. Could be wrong though.

Possibly, but going by that it's completely out of wack. Many pistols for example have a randomly lower mobility value than most weapons, despite having the quickest ADS time in the game.

I've actually felt that pistols have a just a small bit slower ads time (with my very very limited testing of it) but every primary that has a lower mobility stat seems to have an awful long ads time (specifically BB's DMR and glaz's rifle as those two are the ones i have actually bothered to test just based by how on it feels.) EDIT: I now am pretty sure I was wrong about the pistols being slower on ads times over primaries. so odds are i'm just wrong about the stat being ads times.

Pretty sure it represents the ADS time? What else can it be?

All pistols (aside from the French revolver and pistols with shields) have an ADS time of 100ms, the quickest of any weapon class (SMGs have a default of 200 and rifles have a default of 300) and yet certain pistols have a lower mobility stat than most other weapons. BB's and Glaz's rifles make sense I guess, but that doesn't change the other instances where ADS time doesn't match up with Mobility. It would certainly be nice to have ADS time on your loadout screen, but Mobility simply doesn't reflect it at all.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Thank you for the answer! Although a few things I'm still a bit confused about:
1. Certain primary weapons also have a lower Mobility value, for example Glaz's OTS-03 with 36, Blackbeard's SR-25 with 38, and Ballistic Shields with 30-28. These weapons certainly don't seem "lighter" than others.
2. The Mobility stat existed even before Operation Para Bellum, which is when the mechanic of pistols increasing your speed was implemented.
