I love R6 but ranked matchmaking is frustrating (5vs4 situations)
I have been playing R6 since 2016 and have seen the game evolve and grow in ways I could never imagine. R6 is one of the big succes stories of this generation and rightfully so. Huge props to the developper for the support.

One thing in R6 makes me just angry and that is the frequency a ranked game ends up being a 5vs4 situation (or worse 3,2 vs 5). It just throws the entire balance of the game out of the window and has a huge impact on your MMR and rank.

Two features I would like to see implemented in ranked matchmaking:
- Give less MMR to a winning team if they play vs an incomplete team + deduct less MMR for losing against a full squad as a 4 man team.
- If you quit frequently you get pooled with other frequent quitters (like marvel vs capcom Ultimate 3)

i think it would be unfair to give less mmr for winnining just becasue someone left

It's a valid concern and maybe depending on how long the match is 4vs5 should be taken into account. But I myself don't think a player "earns" a full MMR win for playing against a team with 4 players.

I agree with this. I've actually expressed the same idea to my friends as well. It seems so dumb to be penalized as a full team.

The issue with reducing mmr is if a team is losing do they force a disconnect on their end to punish the winners? Where do you draw the line?

Not saying I disagree, I am sick to the back teeth of getting to Gold 2 and everything is balanced and fine.. then all of a sudden you get matched against smurfs, or there is a hacker on your team, or someone disconnects and doesn't come back.

It's like an endless cycle of getting to the rank you should be at and then getting shot in the foot because of idiocy.

It's almost like you can't solo queue ranked.. maybe there should be two separate ranked queues for solo and pre-made?

Maybe a first step should be lowering the MMR lose for the 4 player team. That way you don't punish the winners but help alleviate the frustration with the losers (MMR lose depending on how many rounds you played with an incomplete team, that way if someone quiets at 3-0 it doesn't cheat the system in giving a very low MMR hit. Next step is keeping people who quit out of ranked games.

I feel that endless cycle as well, nicely phrased!
