Do I need to buy the DLC?

What are the benefits of DLC and do they matter THAT much? I don't have the money for it right now but I really want the game

no, it will just give u dlc operators and you can grind some renown and buy without dlc

No, 99% of content which is available in dlcs and season pass can be unlocked with in-game currency "renown" or just by progressing in game (for example challenges).

The only "paid" things in game are weapon skins and Uniforms. Virtually no impact on gameplay.

Supposedly only cosmetics are exclusive to year passes.

Welp I bought the game, wish me luck learning and what not. I have had a lot of problems with UPlay in the past tho during the free weekend

Ever been on the internet? Just a simple google search will pull up thousands of forums with UPlay problems from 2014 and earlier that are still ongoing issues in all their games

Just met this guy in terrorist hunt. Wanted to que up with him for more. He sends me a friend req, I don't get it. I send him one, nothing happens. I see a random notification button finally in my shift+f2 and when i click it its just a blank box saying notifications.

This is why this is one of the most hated games out there on pc simply because it uses UPlay. It's so broken and if i look this issue up its been an ongoing issue since like 2013 or 2014

Oh, theres another game breaking bug. When I try to launch it it goes to some random ass old account from my Splinter Cell days. I haven't touched that account on this PC, ever. Even after signing out of it time after time after time after ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time and signing into my current account it still wont let me launch through steam because it will log me into the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ account

I am also considering getting the game. Seeing that you have had it for awhile, can I still get Operators without buying the DLC? If so how long will it take?

The base game operators can be unlocked quite rapidly. DLC ops cost 25 000 Renown per operator. To get that much Renown it'll take you about 20-30 hours.
