the only way to get to the standard edition, is have steam take the starter off your account perm
I think if you were to buy it, you'd have two copies of the game with seperate progress. Starter and Standard.

I believe the only way to really "upgrade" and keep your progress, would be to purchase R6 Credits and buy characters that way. Other than that, I believe you'd have to revoke your key and start over.

Yeah, it's just another reason people refer to it as the scam edition.

Sorry man.

if you want to upgrade: contact the steam support, ask them to delete rainbow six siege from your steam account and only afterwards you are able to buy the normal version
Do you think it’s worth it?

Depends on you:
- interested in all basic operators? change
- only interested in DLC and you already got your basic operators you are going to play? Don't change, get an season pass/the year 1 operator pack.
- Are you going to play multiply hours each day for quite a long time? you could stay starter edition, if you are fine with the grind.

I suggest changing to the "normal" version, or, get an season pass/the year 1 character pass (or both).
I have the game on console and I think I’ll buy year 1 pass sometime later

I bought starter on steam and standard on Uplay to try it out, I lost one op by doing this, one of the vanilla ones and it was pretty cheap so I guess it works, there isn't much point to try after you've unlocked the vanilla ops since DLC ones cost the same for everyone. There was a time when you were better off buying the starter edition with the unlock-everyone-pack. It was cheaper/the same cost as the standard edition but you unlocked everyone. Now it's more expensive.. I think.

Is it really that bad if you lose your progress? I mean how many operators do you have now? The originals are really easy to get in standard. Leveling doesn't do anything. idk how long you played but you shouldn't have a high rank or any cool skins right?

also doesn't a UPLAY account solve this idk

EDIT: NVM IT SEEMS U CAN'T UPGRADE?
