The best thing to do is to crank your mouse DPI as high as it'll go and shift+tab while doing a jerking motion.

This is actually common amongst all games, not just Rainbow Six Siege. It's a Steam issue, not a game issue.

It applies with many things, whenever you open Steam overlay it sometimes lags and doesn't detect the release of a key so the computer believes that the key is still pressed down.

Move a mouse or a controller analog stick to one direction and open overlay, it will stay moving that way.
Hold down fire and open Steam overlay, you'll continuously to fire until your mag runs out.
Open chat and hold down a key and open overlay, the chat text field will continuously be filled with that letter.
So on so forth.
