FPS Lock? VSync is Off!
Hello, I've never had a problem running this game before on my current hardware. I got two new SSDs yesterday and moved my Rainbow Six Seige to one of the new SSDs. Now, I'm having an issue where it locks my FPS at 60, but vsync is off same with the graphics profile on my system (AMD). And sometimes it even locks certain rounds at 45fps. I can easily reach 80+fps on Ultra settings. I've tried restarting my PC multiple times. But, when I change the resolution from 1920x1080p to say 1600x900p my fps becomes unlocked. I've gotten my latest drivers as well.

Heres my specs.....
-----------------------------------------------------------
Specs:
R9 390
FX-8320
32 Gb Ram @ 1600Mhz
2x Samsung EVO SSD 500gb/each
OS Windows 10 64bit
-----------------------------------------------------------

Now, here's some screenshots of my graphics profile in game, AMD Radeon Settings Profile, and FPS in game.

If someone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You, for your time and consideration.

I have the same problem... FPS Locked in 45
Good. Hope it never gets unlocked.

Btw, having VSync on is good for screen tearing but it causes input lag for your mouse thus hurting you when you try to make fine adjustments.

Well, I got a new CPU, Motherboard and Memory and my problem is fixed.
So, it was a hardware issue. Good to know for the future.

It seems that way, because I uninstalled the game, and reinstalled the drivers for all of my equipment before I upgraded, still no change. When I did get my new equipment it works.

Yeah, your mouse doesn't move as fast as on vsync on, but however u don't have screen tearing which I hate very much, plus when u don't have same fps in games, it might become difficult, like when I was playing CS GO with 300-400 fps and then later that day I wanted to play for example Crysis 3 where I couldn't achieve 300-400 fps, but 60, I had feeling everything was slowed down and didn't feel same, was hard to aim, then again in CS GO I had 400 fps, everything seemed fast and again had hard time in movement and aiming. All I am saying, it's better to have just one stable, same fps in games. And u get to used everything. Personally I care more about nice graphics and I'm fine with 60 fps even in online games, rather than having different fps with screen tearing or even lowered graphics.

Ok, so recently i had some similar issues with this game and many other games.

FPS gets locked around 45fps.

I have an AMD card (r9 270) and i5 6th gen processor with Windows 10 installed. The solution that worked for me was to completely turn off the Xbox DVR settings. Here is to instructions on how to do this:

https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6239-DZCB-8600

After his, I had fps back to 75-100.

Then buy a Monitor that does NOT limit itself on a 60hz if you want more than 60fps.
Having a 60hz Monitor with a Spec that can run above the 60fps will cause screen tearing.
And 60Fps and 120Fps will still make no difference.
120Fps is only for the 3D oh so effect and just a waste of money for overpricing Rigs.
Above 60fps on a 60Hz monitor will indeed cause screen tearing.

The other points you made make no sense.
First of all, you can most definitely notice a difference when moving from 60fps to 120fps. (If on a >=120Hz monitor, of course.)
120Fps is only for the 3D oh so effect and just a waste of money for overpricing Rigs.
I don't understand at all what you meant by this...
120fps is only for 3D? What? No...

How about you educate yourself to fk off with your mentally rtarded Elite PC Logic that 120FPS is useful when the human eye can only track at 60fps and the 120fps is more off to showcase and utilize 3D.
There is a lot of debate going around human seeing/tracking only 'x' fps.
Some people have lower response times, some higher.

On this Reddit-thread (https://www.reddit.com/r/askscience/comments/1vy3qe/how_many_frames_per_second_can_the_eye_see/) people say that some fighter pilots "have been recorded spotting 1/255th of a frame." (Which means, 'tracking' 255fps)

One thing is for sure though;
Playing with more FPS (On a higher-Hz monitor), will help you game, and will make the game more smooth-looking.
You can try it out by yourself!

Oh, and the 120fps for 3D is still false. No idea where you got that from.

Okay then, go ahead and try. Oh wait, your ♥♥♥♥♥♥ potato can't run over 60fps? It's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ day and night between those, I can tell the difference instantly if my fps goes under 100. It's not a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ elite pc thing, it's common sense and if you wanna be better player, you need those frames.

Now you took thing that the human eye can only see certain fps, it's not what you see, it's what you feel dumbo. Of course with +100hz you can see the difference too. Now please, stay at your 4k epic xbone and stay away with your false ♥♥♥♥.
Oh sure, continue on with your mentally rtarded delusional belief when everything has been debunked. Pathetic PC Elite. Everything you say has been debunked all the way back in 2012 and you still cling to it.
No wonder people like you love to waste so much money on useless things only to toss it aside for something newer and better like an Apple user.
Debunked?
Could you please give me the source?
Scientific research?

I am sorry that this is out of topic, but someone is wrong in the internet.

This thread has been going for 23 days and EVERYONE is saying somthing along the lines of
"what Hz is your monitor?"
"60Hz monitors display 60 fps"
"buy a new monitor"

I agree, playing on a 60Hz monitor with higher fps than 60 will cause screen tearing which sucks, but some people doesn't care about it & playing with ugly screen tearing. I lock my fps to 60 with vsync on my 60hz monitor and everything feels smooth and no tearing.

Listen, guys this is no longer a problem. None of the fixes you talked about worked for any of us, so I got new hardware and it fixed it.
