Game does not detect my GPU?
For a few days now, Rainbow Six Siege keeps setting me on the Microsoft Render Driver, even though my GPU has been working on the game for ages.

Rainbow Six Siege is the only game having this problem, as other games still run on my Geforce. Any Solution?

Go into your nVidia PhysX settings and on the 3D settings choose "High Performance Graphics Card" as your option. That should force rainbow to use your GPU.

This config file inside the folder, the OP said to delete, seems to have something called GPUAdapter=0, now maybe when you installed the game it seem to not put the right thing.
I have 1 GPU: GTX 970, and I don't have any integrated graphics, but if it's using integrated, maybe your dedicated GPU is GPUAdapter=1, just guessing though.
A while ago, I had problems with this game not using my dedicated graphics card, so I found a post where it told me to change "GPUAdapter=0" to "GPUAdapter=1" and that seemed to work for me. Just recently, I started to have the same problem, and tried everything people were posting about on here. Absolutely nothing helped, so I decided to start messing with things on my own. I switched the "GPUAdapter" back to 0 and it worked for me. I hope this helps anyone who cant figure it out!

I've been using the PhysX settings on every game to use my GPU only, so that was already done.

This problem has still not been solved.
I've tried everything in the Nvida control panel, with no avail.
However, it does say that the GPU is UNKNOWN in the games graphic settings.
I just need a way to put my GPU into that area so it detects it, or some other way that this game detects it.
Same problem, except worse because I have an amd card which apparently no one has a fix for

Have we considered looking at the games additional notes on the store pages sys requirements which tells you what gpu's are supported.

Have you looked there yet?

I have an AMD card, and the game worked just fine.
Just because the developers don't recommend it dosen't mean it won't run.
I found the fix for this anyways, as the Game did not detect my Hardware.
Just go to C:\Users\(Username)\Documents\My Games\Rainbow Six - Siege\c12a5ed5-fc6d-4351-8c00-bbb7b3df55c6 And delete the folder. Start it up, and it will detect your GPU.

Everyone will have the folder in the same place, but good point.
Also, i did not have anything in it but GameSettings.ini... :P

try that. uninstall driver. disable gpu through device manager. restart pc. enable gpu through device manager. update drivers. restart. open nvidia control panel and set high performance gpu as option.

Just deleting that file and starting up the game worked?
It had nothing to do with the control panel.

I think its supposed to be supported.
The thing that irritates me is that I can't force it onto the game no matter what I do

One question: the game won't boot up at all and says no GPU detected, or it's using ur integrated graphics?
It boots up but it uses "Microsoft Render Driver" for me, which is basically no gpu at all, its just using the cpu
