You have to change your settings for those keys. I have a laptop like that but I don't play this game on it.

you have to hold the fn key to do that.

So you'd do fn+shift+f2

ok for me I just had this happen and it doesn't work now because started using a keyboard with 4 functions in the 1 key so F2 key is also number 2 > and @ ( by pressing shift alone ) has a media function ( fn + 2 and to get f2 u need as above the fn + shift + f2 BUT here the problem as the shift is now being used to alter the key function the overlay can not detect you pressing the shift > so when fn shift 2 to get f2 it thinks your just pressing f2 with no shift so wont activate the overlay I had to get a cheap external to bypass the issue > being able to make it like shift and numpad 5 for example would be so much handier

AFAIK this can be changed in laptop setup.
You have to press F2, F10, or something like this when your laptop is booting, but before Windows starts to boot up to enter into laptop setup.
Currently, your F1-F12 are configured to be functional keys, like brightness, sound, etc.
You have to change them to be normal F1-F12 keys, as on all normal computers.
