Worth playing without a mic?

Dont currently have a mic but want to buy R6 and start learning the basics.

I know a mic is benifical in a mode like ranked but what is casual like?

I do plan on getting a mic in a few weeks. Am i wasting my time until i have it or are alot of people not using them?

If youre just playing casual you dont need one. Honestly maybe one or 2 people a game talk in casual. You should have one for ranked but thats up to you.

Even in ranked many people don't use a mic though, text chat and pinging/spotting works just fine

Except when you face a team with communication you are at a natural disadvantage

like the others said, for ranked matches it is a must-have.
Personally I don't use a mic in casual mode simply because the people out there are either too toxic or even too tryhard for my taste. Gather a couple of peeps you play with and get a discord / TS server. It really saves you from a lot of trouble.
Btw I also disabled the chat for the same reason.

mic isn't necessary for any game mode, it would greatly help but you can do fine without it

You don't need mic for ranked or casual it helps if you're a noob though.

Once you git gud you can just carry with pings and your own body movements.

For example: if my team sees me starting to furiously teabag on the spot it means I'm gonna die.

So basically git gud
