Copying game files from uplay to steam

So i preloaded the game on uplay for the free weekend tomorrow, and if it doesnt crash like last time i plan on buying it from steam. Willl i have to wait another 7 hours to download? Are the game files the same? Can i just copy the game files to my steam directory after i purchase the game?

Yea. The only differents is how you start the game.

If you have it on steam you start it with steam and will log in into uplay automatic. The friend list and stuff ingame is uplay only aswell

If you have it on uplay you just start it with uplay.

Yea it should work. You won't have to download it again that i'm sure but how exactly it will work i don't know.

When you try to install on steam, it will say thats its discovered existing files, so you dont have to redownload the game but it does take a while to verify. Just make sure you put your files in the Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege folder
