Digital vs physical copy?
So i know this may be a noob question but rainbow 6 is only $20 on amazon for a disk but im not sure how it works. because of steam I haven't gotten a physical copy of a game since 2005 so im not sure. If i get a physical copy of r6, will it add the game to uplay or steam or will I always need the disk in my machine to play? Id assume what happens is when you put the disk in your pc it binds the game to your uplay account right and you can download it from your library if you want to download it again without the disk. So, my question is, once i put in the physical copy, what happens? Thanks in advance for answering such a noob question

Honest to god, you people need to learn of a wonderful invention called "Google".

It'd go to your uPlay account.

It should come with a code that you can redeem.

The physical copy will give you a key (code) to link a new copy to your Uplay account. The installation will only save you a bit of time as the game will still download about 80% of the game from the server. (The disk(s) doesn't include the full game.)

The only difference between the physical copy and Steam's digital copy is that Steam allow you an easier access to the Steam community while the physical copy must be set as a "non-steam game" which doesn't have any quick access to the Steam forum/screenshots/etc.

If you got any friends who play the game, joining them doesn't change anything because the game works with the UPlay friends' list and not Steam friends.
