Why the hell I can't play Rainbow Six Siege

Error 6-0x00001000 i thought this was fix ffs
it isn't even letting me get into the game. I open the game, click any button to go to main menu, it gets to "creating squad", then gives me that error. Also, i can click okay to the error, and it brings me to the menu, except without anything but my name, picture, rank, level, renown and r6 credits, all of which are correct to the last time I logged on. It then proceeds to say creating squad again, and eventually give me another duplicate error.

I had the exact same problem. I tried a lot of things, including un-installing and re-installing the game but, after doing that, I was faced with another error when re-installing. Now the game is not
even fully installed on my computer. it just gives me this error when I try to start it:

An error occourd while updating Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige (content file locked) :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\Common\Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2010\installscript.vdf

I will try to fix my install problem first. Let me know if you figure out your error and good luck. Plus... F*** Ubisoft... and steam.

Alright so I have just fixed my problem and I am now able to play the game. The original error that you are having now and that I had, is now gone. So if you can I would suggest un-installing and re-installing the game as, it worked for me. If you come accross the error I had when re-installing, just restart your computer. Hope this helped.

Dammit installing and downloading takes a lot of time I guess ill just wait until they patch it

I got this problem a month ago. It got so frustrated that I nearly refunded the game. However, several days later the game ran normally and I can play it again. I think the main problem is the ubisoft server and your network not the pc itself. Therefore, give it few days abd then try running the game again. If it still doesn't work then contact Ubisoft support or refund the game. Good luck!
