This roguelike shooter doesn’t waste time trying to dazzle with story. In fact, the narrative is so barebones that you're better off reading the brief description on the Steam page—if you even care. The game is laser-focused on gameplay, and it makes that clear from the first moment.

The controls are simple: move, dash, shoot. That’s it. And that’s all you need. The game drops you into a restricted arena and challenges you to survive increasingly aggressive waves of enemies. The pacing ramps up quickly; early waves trickle in, but soon enough, enemies spawn in overwhelming numbers, punishing sloppy aim.

What keeps this from becoming a mindless run-and-gun, though, is the stamina system. Shooting drains it slowly, while dashing consumes a big chunk. It refills quickly, but not quickly enough to let you mindlessly spam your way through combat. Every shot counts, and every dash has to be timed.

Defeated enemies drop coins, which you must physically collect before they vanish—a clever risk-reward mechanic that forces you to stay mobile and constantly balance aggression with survival. At the end of each wave, you use money to buy a random selection of three perks.

These power-ups are key to progression but come with caveats: they’re expensive early on, and new ones only unlock after clearing multiple waves. Once unlocked, they become part of your future runs. Some perks are unlocked in challenge rooms that require a key from the store. These rooms also let you buy gems, but the price is still high.

Unfortunately, the perk system lacks transparency. You can stack upgrades like the spinning disk weapon, but there’s no way to see what each upgrade does until you buy it. Clearer descriptions would definitely help with strategy.

And make no mistake, trial and error is the core loop here. You're expected to fail. Repeatedly. But each failure earns you gems, which can be spent on permanent upgrades to damage, speed, range, secondary weapon slots, and more.

Overall, there’s nothing new here. Each run is the same, since you slowly make progress through a city with each beaten wave until you beat a boss and move on to the next area. The payoff comes after several rounds, or until you upgrade the most important stats. And last note: if you played the game before the achievements, you’ll have to start from the beginning because they don’t unlock even if you already reached the requirement.

good concept, like most rogue-likes, but the combat in this feels rather clunky and sluggish, may just be my personal preference, but I feel like it needs a bit more work, make the combat a bit more fluid, and maybe add an auto aim?
