Success rate
Tough titty - "You died in a combat" at expedition #4(normal difficulty), attempt ~ #10. And that's it, I quit playing. What's your record and your rage-quit threshold?

I think people need to get out of the mentality they have to go everywhere and do everything that comes up.

What did you died to for the last 10 times? We can help you learn from them.

well i can give you a tip you can just if you encounter a combat just flee dont fight the monsters or else they will kill you but if you have medkits and powerful trek you can stop them so yeah if you wanna win against the comabat things in normal just flee hope that helps :D

avoiding combat items are finally useful.

you have so many options, hell even ONE native warrior helps a ton.

You NEVER need to die if you are boring and end last every mission by abusing a tent. Sure it'll be a wear on your fame but maybe just maybe you can make it up with all the treasure you find.

Personal favourite is still mission 6 temple loot chasm take one step away from temple fall into chasm game over. Its by far the most ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mechanic that still exists.

I didn't realize how true this is until I tried a no-combat run.

Fireworks, flutes, mini puppets, native warriors... all very useful for escaping/avoiding combat. I believe totem sticks as well? Though I haven't used one yet.

I've played several times through where I never entered into combat even once. Play as Mary Kingsley - she's a Pacisifist (less chance for combat) and she starts with a Native Warrior (less chance for combat).

You dodn't even need to use any of the special equipment. You just walk around like a ghost.

Do you know how much of a bonus Pacifist gives, exactly? I noticed that a maxed-out native warrior got most enemies to 0% aggro, and I used flutes & fireworks for the rare few that weren't (I didn't use Mary Kingsley for my non-combat run).

I'm just wondering if Pacifist + a native warrior can give you 0% aggro chance on all enemies, thus saving you some inventory space.

If you can't hit 0%, you'll need to carry some items anyway, which means that you might as well take another Explorer.

Now I'm wondering if having multiple native warriors on your team will stack the stealth bonus...

Other than raptors and panthers who has very high aggro chance. The game never gives me a chance to get 2 native warriors so I haven't tested it either.

My proud trek, lead by Darwin, was smitten by Giant Bird(rolls 4, 5(?) dices, easilly incapacitating 1 man per turn despite the healing abilities of the shaman recruit). Retreat was not an option (I attacked on purpose) and I lost the expedition. RIP Darwin and my brave scottish soldier - we'll remember you.

For battles like these when you end up with 2 birds, you need to bring out the best stuff.

Explosion - AOE
Planned Explosion - AOE
Precise Explosion - AOE
Ripper Leap
Flank
Punctuation
Masterful Shot
Headshot
Shotgun Powerblast - AOE
Stable Beam - AOE
Alternating Beam
Spear Attack
Power Spear
Spear Defense
Spear Throw

You can't be dealing miniscule damage, or you're dead in 1-3 turns. Then again I wouldn't know if you know many of these or were even prepared for them.

Same here. Easiest difficulty, mission 6 loot, and a huge chasm, like 12-hex tiles in diameter just appeared with no way to avoid it, and game over message. Lost hours of progress.
