Any good microphone setups for use with VR recording?
Hi!
As the title states, I'm really into recording my gameplay footage and I'm loving my Vive, but I don't find the Vive's microphone good enough, and neither is my headset microphone. I use a condenser mic when I'm playing other games, and know it will be hard to replicate the same audio fidelity- but do you know of any of those good clip on mics, or something that will get me better audio recordings?
Thankyou so much for any help!

Not sure if it's what you want, but with my new Vive (love it!) I'm using a wireless Bluetooth headset - Razor Manowar - and it works great. I know the Vive has a jack for a headphone but I didn't think it had a microphone...
the vive's mic is ok, just don't breath too hard because it doesn't have some air filter

It sure does have a microphone, I use a wireless Steelseries Siberia 800- which is fine, but the microphone quality on wireless headsets are awful as well.

Are you looking for something wireless or something you can connect to a portable recorder?

That might explain why when I tested the (horrible) phone app, the other person couldn't understand me. If you're wanting to record something for a stream or whatever, wouldn't you need a mic right by your face since you are wandering around in VR?

Any good and reasonable solution would do for me, I think i saw that horrible shouting youtuber, jacksepticeye, use a clip on mic though- if you check his videos he gets excellent audio quality while using roomscale vr

Yeah, but have yet to receive a reply.
Late, lol. I noticed that some youtubers simply just use their usual mic with either the gain turned up, or heavy compression, but this isn't an option unless you have a sound treated room. Lav mics are really good with flexibility in mind, but another alternative would be to use a Shotgun mic as long as you don't move off of it's recording axis.
