Vive controllers just horrible! Why cant you just pack in razer hydra instead of this garbage?
The biggest prove of how horribe Vive controllers is Fallout 4 VR and DooM Vr - in both of these games you can even walk or run you just.... TELOPORT FROM POINT TO POINT!

What was you Valve and HTC thinking about when you designed this garbage that has less thatn 16 standard buttons and has no analogue mini sticks?

The impact on gameplay is almost the same as impact of iphone and other touch screen devices on mobile gaming.

Remember Nokia N-gage and other button powered smartphones before iphone? WIth buttons you had all sorts of games there where you can walk, jump and do many other things like on any console or pc. Smartphones with buttons was fully capable gaming devices... now look at smartphone gaming now! Most of games are 1 button clickers like Anry Bird, action games dumbed down to slow paced monorail "house of the dead" kind of shootemups at best, games like GTA that ported from consoles are barely playable with touchscreen and require wireless gamepads, racing games has not cars that moves without your input and you only need to steer left or right... mobile gaming ruined by lack of buttons and analogue sticks (like those your have on playstation portable).


This is going to happen with VR games if HTC an Valve would not replace these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Vive controllers with something like razer hydra or something that Oculus offer or something like Nintendo Wiii has!

No matter what kind of motion controls you do, motion controllers should have built in 12 standard buttons, 4 directional d-pad and 2 analogue sticks for backwards compatibility with any exiting game and for advance controls. And i named razer hydra because it was perfect balance between classic controllers and motion controllers and i remember Valve sold them with special almos VR edition of Portal 2, so its sad to see how HTC vive used such a dumbed down useless controllers and forces developers to dumb down gameplay expirience for such a horribly designed controllers.



Just look at what this type of controller done ton Fallout 4 VR and DooM VR - these are not games they used to be, it just pathetic and sad how controllers crippled game expirience where you can even properly move, only stand or teleport!

Im giving serios critics, if you it hurts your feelings, then buzz off and know that they only clown here is you. Your kind can eat any ♥♥♥♥ with a smile without any complain, i complain a lot because there is a lot to complain about, every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing in this world getting worse in a recent decade rapidly and judging by statistic of rapid fall of IQ level in entire world during last decade, people just became too lazy and stupid to even realize things they should complain about... and cant see a step ahead and making ♥♥♥♥ that provoke complains. I mean how short sighted Valve and HTC was when they designed controller like this that barely has any buttons? i was able to see this mile ahed when they just annouced this, that this will cripple gameplay expirience and dumb donw VR games and will turn them into nothing more but primitive party games like those we saw on Nintendo Wii and Kinect in most cases, and anything more advanced that this will be dumbed down... and this happened. I was so hyped to see DOOM and FALLOUT in VR but it ended up a huge dissapointment because how altered gameplay became due of these ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controllers.

Now tell me how you cant complain about this?

Enemies barely move and slow as hell, you teleport to the point where you aim instead of properly moving, game turned into some sort of dumb turn based stategy and no where near the expirience of fast paced doom, and all of this because of this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ vive controller!

Now ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ go to steam store page and enter Razer Hydra into search box, and see how it should have been done without crippling gameplay, you "genius".

If You Want That, You Can Use A Steam Controller. They Work With Some Vive Games.

While I of course have not played Fallout VR or Doom VR yet, I've played enough port n shoot games in VR now to tell you - They are still a ton of fun. When you stop looking for all the flaws in a game and just try playing it, you'll be surprised how most of the things you thought would detract from the experience suddenly do not matter.

I completely agree with Voodoo that the vive controllers are certainly not the ideal VR controller, HTC and Valve are painfully aware of this and have commented on it themselves and are busy designing new controllers.

So... What exactly is your point Voodoo? The games are still a ton of fun, yeah I'd like to see better tech but... isn't that always the case? Have you actually USED a VR HMD yet or are you basing this purely on speculation?
And make it 100 times worse? The controller would shatter to pieces with the sligtest hit if it was built by razer lol. Razer was and is still utter garbage.

This is the worst idea ever.

When you actually play VR you'll realize that a gazillion buttons is not needed at all. In fact, there are more articulations of control available through the Vive than are possible with a regular gamepad or mouse setup.

Razer Hydra only tracks controllers like in one meter from bace... (magnetometer)
And those are wired :P + buggy + has stupid buttons that crashes games...
Vive controllers are from other world than hydras xD

Well hydra is good in terms of design of controllers, not in tech of motion controls, similar design should be combined with more advanced motion tech to achive best resuls and Oculus controller seems like almost exactly what im talking about. New nintendo switch controllers also good example - Valve really doing bad job in terms of controllers (steam controllers is also a flawed one), they dont get fundamental things about controllers.
