Best VR/Vive games with progressive content?
One of the common complaints is the lack of VR games w/ progressive content. They do exist though; they just tend to get lost among the horde of non-progressive games out there.

Now by progressive content I mean games that effectively reward you with new content as you play: this can include unlockables, new levels/missions and so on. This excludes games where you can effectively see everything in a single play session. So games like Space Pirate Trainer, ZenBlade, Hover Junkers, Onward, etc, don't really count.

Some examples that I can think of include:

Raw Data - This game features 7 individual missions which are unlocked upon successful completion of the preceding mission. It also features three playable characters (one which needs to be unlocked) and unlockable abilities for each character. While I haven't played through all the content yet, I'd estimate it has a good 5 to 10 hours worth of playable content. And there are still more missions to come.

Quar - Quar is a turn-based strategy game. Only played it a bit so far, but the full game's campaign is reportedly 10 hours or so.

The Solus Project - A sci-fi adventure game I've only played a little bit so far, the full adventure is reportedly in the 8 to 10 hour range.

Subnautica - Still in Early Access, one could easily spend a couple dozen hours obtaining all in-game items and exploring all the biomes. And the devs are continually adding fresh content.

Elite Dangerous - Seems to be one of the biggest games in terms of content; mostly I've heard people just play it until they get bored. Not uncommon for people to put 100+ hours into this.

The Talos Principle has beta VR support

Added experimental support for SteamVR. To enable it, right click on The Talos Principle in your Steam Library, then click on Properties / Set Launch Options, and add the following parameter: +vr 1

I don't own that game.

Let's not forget Starseed and vanishing realms... both tell some sort of a story, explore new areas, and have hidden stuff.

Haven't tried it yet, but given I own it, I should. I didn't really count it though since it's not "officially" supported.

Try it for all we know it could make the game more enjoyable. The game to me comes off as just another portal clone and that's why I haven't given it a second thought. If it has VR support working I might want to check it out. One game I haven't played is Dream, I installed it and they said they were going to add VR support and I'm waiting on that to give that game a go.

I wouldn't call it a Portal clone. While they are both puzzle games, they have vastly different tones and the puzzles are markedly different.

Dream looks cool. Haven't picked it up yet, but it was on my radar awhile back.

You have to setup the items in much the same way you do in Portal, screams Portal clone to me. It's like you are saying Duke Nukem is not a Doom clone when it is.

In the latter case, I'd say that does a disservice to call Duke 3D a "Doom clone". It's obviously a lot more than that.

Similarly, Talos Principle is quite different than Portal once you get to the meat of the game. Very different puzzles, overall style, tone, etc. It stands on its own.

Maybe il try Talos Principle i own it (I think) and wanted to play it for a while

"The Solus Project" is easy and rather short, when you just go for the next mission target. But the point is to actually feel like Indiana Jones landed on an alien planet and finding the Crystal Skull of Immortality! I've played it for 25 hours and still haven't found all the artifacts.

Sounds like Doom 3: BFG Edition can be added to this list thanks to a mod enabling full Vive support: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vive/comments/5do2u8/doom_3_with_the_roomscale_mod_is_awesome/

edited: Having now tried Doom 3 with the Vive, I have mixed feelings about it. Wrote up my thoughts here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/358040/discussions/0/208684375418088777/#c208684375422674687

Jesus christ, lol. I don't even have to make a thread or post anymore. The damage control shill is doing it for me. You must be required by your employer to make a shill thread every few days because it's the only explanation as to why you'd shoot yourself in the foot with a list like that. Seated games. Games from launch day. Barely playable games with the resolution.
I mean seriously, I'd delete this if I was you.

Just admit it, that you are the anti-christ of VR and you can't help yourself. I swear you have to make sure every thread has one negative comment.

Given the amount of time you've been on this board it doesn't say much for your reading abilities to have missed what I've said about VR and the vive. I've just spent an hour on the GearVR and enjoyed a bash on solitaire and some porn. Cheap, comfortable simple VR with the emphasis on cheap. VR is a gimmick but at the right price and comfort it's fine as long as it doesn't pretend it's anything more that a cheap gimmick.

Lately everything out of you mouth is just negative nonsense with a few insults thrown in. You used to be more constructive and provide an argument, but now if you don't like something you let the tears just flow.

You post above: "Delete this" "Mods Sucks"

Well you attitude as of late is starting is starting to grate and i sure as hell don't see you making any VR games.

I don't need any advice from you kid. You're acting like I'm here to entertain you. Get off your horse.

At this point old man that's all you are is entertainment. Person makes thread and queue up Puppy to walk in and provide the insults and baseless comment why a certain post or poster should not be posted or posting. It's getting old.
