Talion and Celebrimbor are whispering.
Maybe I uninstalled prematurely but ever since I got myself a brand new computer Talion and Celebrimbor are extremely quiet when they speak during the gameplay. In the very first mission where they're leading up to Minas Ithil their voices are so low I can barely make anything out. When interrogating the very first worm at the start of the mission and when locating the footprints of the first Captain in that same mission.

Oddly enough Idril, Baranor and all the rest who have voices have their full voices. And the cimenatic scenes are completely fine. Talion and Celebrimbor have their full voices in those too. This is an odd situation I find myself in.

For the first time I'm not lagging playing this game but now I can't even hear the 2 main characters.

I would say do a simple reinstall or verify game files as something is always wrong with this game a lot of times bad pc or not.

For whatever reason I didn't consider reinstalling. But now I have and the problem persists. But it is what it is. The developers are disbanded and this series is abandoned.
This has been a problem since a long time. I did a forum search recently and discovered that the problem is the game tries to output sound through the computer's back speakers even if your computer doesn't have them. The workaround people use is to turn on surround sound.

I had actually tried that and the problem wasn't solved.
I was wrong with my last post but I may have found a solution. You need to turn on loudness equalization for your speakers.

Open the control panel, click on hardware and sound, then click on sound. Then find your speakers on the list and double click them. Then on the properties window that pops up, find enhancements and then turn on loudness equalization.

For me the enhancements tab was missing so I had to take additional steps.

To get the enhancements tab to appear if it's missing, do the following.

Open the device manager, find sound, video, and game controllers. Right click Realtek Audio and disable device. I had to restart my computer here. Then open device manager again if you had to restart, find Realtek Audio again, and right click and click update driver. Click Browse My Computer For Drivers, click Let Me Pick From a List of Available Drivers On My Computer. It will show a list and you need to click High Definition Audio Device. There will be a warning prompt saying the driver might not be compatible. Click yes. You might need to restart again but doing this caused the enhancement tab to appear.

For me I just turned off audio enhancements in the windows sound settings. Found it via a different thread. Instantly worked. Don't notice a difference in audio quality

The loudness equation being turned on didn't change anything. Appreciate the help though.

Disabling audio enhancements fixed it.
