Following the Market Closure...

So I was messing around with my warchiefs earlier, assigning some new gangs and weapons when it occurred to me that with the market being closed in a few weeks, any orcs in the garrison along with boosts and training orders will no longer be accessible. If it were just the chests being removed this wouldn't be too much of a problem but with no market at all, we can't access anything else in it.

Now, this isn't such a big deal - most of the captains I have in the garrison will probably just sit there and the boosts I rarely touch. Training orders though I use a fair bit. People who have spent actual money on chests and have yet to use their captains, boosts and training orders... will they still be able to use them somehow or will they be refunded (or forced to use them or lose them?) Maybe everything in the market will just be converted to in-game items such as with remaining gold? (Which would suck.)

I know nothing has been "set in stone" as to what new features will be implemented following the closure of the market but as a player with some nice items stored, I would very much like to know what will happen to my saved items before I run out of time.

it's a big deal for those people that spent money on them and then everything in there just gets deleted.

Read the FAQ for the upcoming updates dude, jesus christ just spouting off completely incorrect information like that lmao. As K9 said, garrison is remaining, you don't lose anything.

Long Story Short: The game devs wised up and realized loot boxes are a terrible idea and are removing them.

ehhh I mean they're doing this now that it's not as lucrative to have a cash shop. My guess is that the publishers gave the green light to take this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ out in hopes of pushing for more sales from people who were reluctant to begin with. I'm reinstalling to see how the update changes stuff, but my hopes aren't that high yet.

I TL:DR over the news prior to purchasing the game. Was interested to know exactly how things will work considering the garrison, chests and training orders are in the market and that "the whole market is being closed." I'll have a read this evening and see exactly what it says.

The information can be found in one of the stickied posts here in the forums. A quick summary, the garrison remains, you can't get or buy orc boxes anymore, you will be able to use mirian to get training orders, they're adding new ways to get orcs through the nemesis system.

Nothing has changed yet. Gold is not going to be purchasable anymore starting May 8th and the marketplace is going to be removed on July 17th. I'm going to wait till July 17th to replay SoW on gravewalker difficulty. Should be a good time. =D

ahhh, okay. I assumed maybe the update was live but the market was still going on for now. I'll have to wait if that's the case then. Thanks for the info.

Honestly, if they were going to add lootboxes it needed to be in a different WB game so they dont taint Monoliths reputation forcing them to do it. This game didn't even need them to complete anything. Not that I defend putting lootboxes in games, it was rather redundant for this game based off the premise of what makes the Shadow series lovable. They never existed for me to begin with so it isn't like I will notice anything different with them being gone.
