Middle-earth: Shadow of War Not working *Solved*
*Fix*

Possible fix that worked for me for the crash on startup. Go to Documents\WB Games\Shadow Of War and then open up the file called render.cfg and at the very bottom set "Windowed" to "2.000000" Which sets it to Borderless. Not sure why but I cannot run the game in Fullscreen. When I try to switch the setting to full screen in game it just causes the game to immediately crash. Hope this might help some folks out there.

Cheers to Ocean Man for this fix

So I bought the game, like everyone else and pre-loaded it, came time for the game to officially release and steam took its time to unpack what I preloaded the night before. Finally I get the game completely ready to launch, I launch it and then Middle-earth: Shadow of War is not responding. So I decided to do all the normal troubleshooting, Restart Steam, Restart Computer, Verify Integrity of Game Cache, Check for any driver updates, I see that there was one which is meant to optimize Shadow of War. After installing it, the game still won't properly launch, stays as a black screen for a bit, then crashes saying that the game is not responding. As for the Crash message, this isn't a unique one supplying a crash code or anything, this is just the standard, not responding message. After doing all the standard trouble shooting I restarted my computer one more time just to make sure but still nothing. So I turned to Google, but as this is a very new game, I couldn't find a fix let alone anybody with the same issue.

Essentially, anyone know a fix?

Sorry for the life story.

Computer Specs:

Which OS do you have? Do you have the Windows 7 platform update installed? If not, try to get it from here and install it:

Goto your event viewer then goto windows logs then application and find the one relating to your crash. And show me the details of it (Displayed down the bottom) Would say somehting like Access violation or something
Do you have this problem in this game only? Also, could you run a dxdiag, generate a log file by using the "save all information" option and post a link on Pastebin of it?

He should still be able to run the game at least at a resolution of 1366*768 and get acceptable framerates on medium settings.
It looks like the dll file "ntdll.dll" is the one causing this problem. Well, there could be many causes to this (malware infection, HDD damage, corrupt Windows installation etc) but for now i would suggest you try running this command: "sfc /scannow" on a CMD prompt with administrator rights, preferably in safe mode.

Your GPU is a laptop GPU and your processor can not handle the game as simple as it is.

edit:
If your CPU is at 2.6 Ghz you should overclock it to 3.5 Ghz then you'll have better luck.
