Hints say he is damaged by beasts, and there are 5 or 6 caragors nearby, but he's also a beast slayer and has a fairly large gang, so caragors are chopped to pieces even if I lure all of them to him.
He's also damaged by explosions, but mighty shot does not even dent his health (see arrow-proof), only push him back a bit. I can detonate the grog barrels, and fire actually hurts him a bit, but the second he stops burning, he heals himself.
Same with executions; I can damage him, but since I can't exactly stay next to him, it doesn't matter, he's at full health within seconds.
I tried to curse him but I've got only a dagger with curse chance; too bad he's arrow proof and stealth vigilant. Last stand may be countered for a few seconds if I could bring in my Gondorian guys, but, of course, I'm not allowed to do that,
Someone said above he could beat him after two hours. I'm in my 4th hour with him (although I had a breakfast and a few cigarettes in the meantime) and it's like I never even touched him. Oh, and it's all on normal difficulty. So any practical advice would be welcome.
Oh, almost forgot: arrow-proof, so elven rage does nothing to him...
Is he Frost Proof? You could try upgrading Elven Light to inflict frost. (But I dont remember when this upgrade becomes avalible.) The basic Elven Light might give you a chance to knock him over for a ground execution also, with the advantage of stunning/freezing all the minions around you.
Try shooting him while he heals. It may not do damage but it might interrupt him (not sure, haven't tried)
I actually got incredibly lucky and could nuke him to 0 health once by hitting only him, doing executions on him, and only parrying the other orcs' attacks. Of course he's death defying.... And after that, although he rose only with minimal health, and I still tried to nuke him, he was back at full health in no time, no matter how much I harassed him.
This whole fight is like in other games' boss fights where there is switch to flip or thing to break to make the boss vulnerable. Like Seath the Scaleless in Dark Souls where he's basically invulnerable until you notice that crystal thingy in his cave and break it.
I haven't tried elven rage's unlimited executions, so thank you, I'll see what I can do with that. But I need some non-unbeatable-boss related entertainment for a while :-D
On the second try I got an opponent with different setting. He was still level 19, looked exactly the same, but he lost Epic Determination, and acquired Mighty Defenders instead, which looked promising, but later turned out to be the deceit of the Dark Lord, because he still healed himself. But! He got actual weaknesses: Beast Fodder and Fear of Caragors... He was down in one minute...
Also, I don't know what happens if you start this quest with an actual Nemesis, which I, as far as know, didn't have.
So, thanks Monolith, awesome game, but you should revisit this part...
HOW TO BE A TOTAL EASY-MODE CHEESE:
Get him angry and chasing you, and drag him back to one of the areas with a single caragor cage before killing off the other orcs. More will spawn, but they will go to the middle, making it a 1v1. Free the caragor, break it and mount it. Immediately use the jumping attack off the caragor to pounce on the champion and stab him, dealing a little damage. He'll throw you off and start to stand up, giving you plenty of time to jump back on the Caragor to jump attack him the second he's standing.
Here's a WEBM of me beating him this way

Sounds good, assuming you spent at least 1 point on beast riding ...
