MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

OS (*): WINDOWS 7/8/10 (64-BIT)
PROCESSOR: AMD FX-6300 (3.5 GHz)/INTEL I5-2500 (3.3 GHz)
RAM MEMORY: 8 GB
GRAPHICS CARD: AMD RADEON R7 260X/NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 560 AND 1 GB OF VIDEO MEMORY
HARD DISK SPACE: 15 GB
INTERNET CONNECTION REQUIRED FOR THE MULTIPLAYER CO-OP MODE
(*) WINDOWS XP AND WINDOWS VISTA ARE NOT SUPPORTED

HOW TO CHOOSE THE GAME LANGUAGE

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LANGUAGE'.

CANNOT RUN THE GAME

A. Please check that Styx: Shards of Darkness is correctly installed:

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE'.

B. Please update or repair Microsoft DirectX:

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'.
4. Open the folder '_CommonRedist' then the folder 'DirectX' and the folder 'Jun2010'.
5. Run the application 'DXSETUP' (DXSETUP.exe).

C. Please install or repair the library Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable:

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then click the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES...'.
4. Open the folder '_CommonRedist' then the folder 'vcredist' and the folder '2015'.
5. Run the application 'vc_redist.x64' (vc_redist.x64.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.
6. Run the application 'vc_redist.x86' (vc_redist.x86.exe) and click the button 'Install' or 'Repair'.

D. Please configure Styx: Shards of Darkness in administrator mode at startup:

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES'.
4. Open the folder 'Styx2' then 'Binaries' and 'Win64'.
5. Right click on the application 'Styx2-Win64-Shipping' (Styx2-Win64-Shipping.exe) and click 'Properties'.
6. Click the tab 'Compatibility'.
7. Check 'Run this program as an administrator' and click the button 'OK'.

E. Update the driver of the graphics card:

Please update the driver of the AMD graphics card from:

NVIDIA

Please update the driver of the NVIDIA graphics card from:
http://www.geforce.com/drivers

F. Rename the game folder 'Movies':

1. Run Steam and click LIBRARY.
2. Right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'LOCAL FILES' then the button 'BROWSE LOCAL FILES'.
4. Open the folder 'Styx2' then 'Content' and rename the folder 'Movies'.


HOW TO FIX SOUND ISSUES

1. Right click on the icon 'Speakers' (bottom right) from the taskbar and click ‘Playback devices’.
2. Right click on the default audio device and click 'Properties'.
3. Click the tab 'Advanced'.
4. Select '16 bit, 44100 Hz (CD Quality)' under 'Default Format' and click 'OK'.


HOW TO EDIT THE GRAPHICS CONFIGURATION FILE

1. Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
2. Open the Local Disk '(C:)' under 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
3. Open the folder 'Users' then the folder of your Windows username.
4. Open the folder 'AppData' (*) then the folder 'Local'.
5. Open the folder 'Styx2' then the folder 'Saved'.
6. Open the folder 'Config' then the folder 'WindowsNoEditor'.
7. Right click on the file 'GameUserSettings' and click on 'Edit'.

(*) The 'AppData' folder is an hidden folder by default, to view this folder:

WINDOWS 7
- Open 'Windows Explorer' from the taskbar.
- Click 'Organize' from the top left then 'Folder and search options'.
- Click the tab 'View' and check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' under 'Hidden files and folders' from 'Advanced Settings'.
- Click the button 'OK'.

WINDOWS 8/WINDOWS 10
- Open 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
- Click the tab 'View' and check 'Hidden items'.


HOW TO RESET THE GAME

1. Run Steam then right click on 'Styx: Shards of Darkness' under 'LIBRARY' and click 'Properties'.
2. Click on the tab 'UPDATES' then uncheck 'Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Styx: Shards of Darkness' under 'Steam Cloud' and click 'CLOSE'.
3. Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
4. Open the Local Disk '(C:)' under 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
5. Open the folder 'Users' then the folder of your Windows username.
6. Open the folder 'AppData' (*) then the folder 'Local'.
7. Delete the folder 'Styx2' and run the game.
8. Quit the game then enable Steam Cloud synchronization for Styx: Shards of Darkness under 'Steam Cloud' and click 'CLOSE'.
9. Run the game.
10. Click the button 'UPLOAD TO STEAM CLOUD' from 'LOCAL FILES' under 'Steam - Cloud Sync Conflict'.

(*) The 'AppData' folder is an hidden folder by default, to view this folder:

WINDOWS 7
- Open 'Windows Explorer' from the taskbar.
- Click 'Organize' from the top left then 'Folder and search options'.
- Click the tab 'View' and check 'Show hidden files, folders and drives' under 'Hidden files and folders' from 'Advanced Settings'.
- Click the button 'OK'.

WINDOWS 8/WINDOWS 10
- Open 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
- Click the tab 'View' and check 'Hidden items'.


HOW TO REPORT A PROBLEM

A. Provide a System Information report:

1. Press the keys Windows Start (bottom left) and 'R' from the keyboard to open the 'Run dialog box' and type: MSINFO32
2. Click the button 'OK'.
3. Click 'System Summary' (upper left).
4. Click 'File' then 'Export...'.
5. Enter a file name (from File name:) and save the file on the Desktop (click Desktop under Favorites, upper left).
6. Close System Information.
7. Right click on the file located on the Desktop and click 'Send To' then 'Compressed (zipped) folder'.

B. Provide the game crash dump:

1. Open 'Windows Explorer' or 'File Explorer' from the taskbar.
2. Open the Local Disk '(C:)' under 'Computer' or 'This PC'.
3. Open the folder 'Users' then the folder of your Windows username.
4. Open the folder 'AppData' (*) then the folder 'Local'.
5. Open the folder 'Styx2' then the folder 'Saved'.
6. Open the folder 'Logs'.

If you crashed, the game automatically creates a folder.
Right click on the folder and click 'Send To' then 'Compressed (zipped) folder'.

C. Send your report with a description of the problem, the System Information report and the crash dump in attachment to: support@focus-home.com

(*) The 'AppData' folder is an hidden folder by default, to view this folder:

WINDOWS 7
